This is the most false statement u'll ever encounter. I mean this wit hall my heart. F!@% dxcalc, trust ur instincts and the experts here to tell you the best ways to fight.

actually, hes not too far off ... me and my alliance-mates used dxcalc when checking what was going on in attacks vs a lvl 16 in age2 (post-cap check) and found that the numbers came back pretty much the same as when we hit the hc ... not to mention when we set up waves the next time i tried some different things on dxcalc to try and optimize pike waves and low and behold they were within an acceptable range of error ... evocalc is the one i wont trust lol ...

dxcalc isnt perfect but its damn close to accurate, the other option is you can pull out a piece of paper and map a battle out the old fashioned way, but not everyone can or is willing to do that

evocalc while it has horrible damage calculations, is great for mapping out troop movements, perhaps the most important aspect of a battle

thats the main way i started to learn troop movements in a battle actually lol ... it works pretty decently and is good for first getting used to the idea of different pieces moving at different times

Out of all the calcs out there Dexters is the best. In a game with battle mechanics like this u will never have a perfect spot on troop calc. There are too many variations that can effect a battle

And no - the defending npc hero level never matters. Period.
the hero never matters? explain the following then.

    Npc troops always the same

    Attacking troops always the same

Attacking hero always the same attack

    Losses are different.

Just had an attack land and lost 57k troops but got 31k pres. Ouch. Anybody have a possible explanation for this?
Unfortunately common sense tells us they should matter, but the game says otherwise....in short, they do not matter. It is probably one of the numerous glitches Evony has not fixed. Or one of the reoccurring ones.

    Update...

Main attack hero now at 254 (att not lev) and won a bunch load of ivory horns so have them constantly applied and am now down to losses of just under 9k. Losses still going down slowly but far more manageable than the horrific losses I was getting. Oh and Compass level makes a HUGE difference.

*to do ...think of something funny and clever as a signature.
