    Default Warcraft Pandatown?

I played WorldOfWarcraft for years. Starting with about a month into the original. Alot of people call is vanilla, but when it was out, it was just WoW so I chose not to call it that. I played and progressed in every expansion besides "Mists of Disney"

Progression on the original was in Molton Core (Rag) and Naxx40. I still have my 9 piece set from there. Great for Pally transmog.
The rest of the expansions were full cleared (hard mode were available).

I think I got up to 170 pets and I was only missing the rare bought mounts.

I did enjoy the game, but it became a bit too grind-tastic with the same kind of fights over and over.

It was great while it lasted, but D3 killed WoW, and then D3 killed itself.

R.I.P. Blizzard (Went the same way as UO)

Argue for your limitations, and they will be yours.

Your out of your mind if you think D3 killed WoW.

Blizzard killed WoW. It wasn't anyone one thing that they did. It was a long time coming.

And I only say "killed" because it's got a fraction of the player base that it once had. But that fraction is still 6 million people. That does not make it a dead game by any means, rofl.

Well, While blizzard was still owned by the original people, and still had the original game designers it thrived. They sold it to the company Activision and it went downhill fast. Granted in its hay-day it had 12 million accounts, but those were shown to be about 40% non paying accounts. So still 8 million players paying is not bad. After Activision took over, and they released D3, that number went down to about 2-3 million paying accounts. This also includes the accounts that signed up for a year auto pay for the ingame mounts, and that are inactive.
When I say D3 killed WOW, the basic reason for that is that most warcraft players were waiting on a new game to use to move away from WOW. Some tried AION, and some tried Rift. Neither was big enough to draw away the mass groups of players that D3 did.
D3 was a massive disappointment to alot of players. Once people left WOW fr D3, and got burnt from D3, they just stopped playing any Blizzard game all together.
Now Activision has reaped the profits of D3 and in-turn has sold to another cheaper company.
So my overall point being Greed, and the inability to bring new and exciting content to a game that brought in over $119,000,000 a month destroyed itself. I still believe that if D3 had not have come out like it did, WOW would still have close to 8 million paying customers.

Pretty sure wow s over 10 mil atm. It peaked at around 11-12 mil or so and has been pretty close to that a few times during cata and pandaria

Wow popularity, like most other online based games has gone down. I think console's are picking up more and more players.

I never played wow during the "golden era" of BC/Vanilla and i joined just after Cata was released. Personally, Cata was a massive upgrade from Wrath, And that was miles and miles ahead of BC imo, (Outland was utter crap to level through)

I bought Panderia when it came out, And Apart from level 84-85, levels 85-90 were some of the most fun to level. I ended up leveling from 89-90 via pvp and didnt do 1 quest the whole time, (I also leveled from 84-85 from mining veins lol)

You hear a lot of people saying that wow was better in the old days, and i think thats true for most online games, Call of Duty 1-5 were my favorites, Now its just flogging a dead horse, Evony is in the same boat.

WoW has ruled the MMO genre for a very long time, and every new game out says they will beat WoW, But never do, for one good reason, And thats the same reason people keep logging into evony, Cause its something to do, Its addictive, and you can meet new people.

They said wow was close to 12 million accounts back a few years ago, Going on what ive seen, That number can olny rise, People start alts to power level characters, people start accounts for there brothers as i have, and i spose there biggest draw card is still people of any age can play wow, So long as they can read, Its not a hard game to grasp, and there is endless backstorys you can learn if you want to.

same as evony they found a groove, which people like, and the game has changed to a point were people want to play, While i miss the old days of evony im not going to kid myself and say that removing bots will bring back what i remember, cause it wont, People cheat now cause they got away with it, and would quit if they couldnt. Same deal with wow, They changed the game to keep up with peoples wants.

back in the day it took 6 months to level to 60, and longer to gear. Now you can level to 80 in a couple of hours with the recruit a friend bonuses, And your determined enough. By slowing everything back to BC standards, You wont bring the game back to what it was, You will just **** off a majority of people who dont want to spend months and months leveling one character. People want to be able to level 10 chars to 90 in a few weeks.

Just some stuff to think about

Its every game. evony is definately one of the most rampant bot use games i have seen but D2 and D3 were just as bad. Wow is getting there. I guess the real difference between wow and evony with bots is in evony if someone is botting they are prolly farming those that arent meanwhile in wow the only real issue is the economy on the AH which i really dont think is that bad. D3 is dying because of bots and a game solely developed around a Real Money Auction House.

If its a game that can be manipulated it will be. Other games like evony are rampant with bot use and always will be. it will only get worse.
