Hello gurus,
I've been playing around on Evocalc trying to figure out the black art of battle mechanics.
I can't find a single situation where it's better to hit a layered defence with traps and abs taken out.
The simulations I've run were variations of attacks using mostly ranged units. E.g. 90k arch, 90k balls, 80k bali/10k pults.
From the simulations I've run, the 5k range forced by traps/abs helps attacking in the following way: the longer distance for defending troops to hit the attackers means that the different layers' speeds causes the layers to spread out by the time they hit the attackers. This means the attackers can take out each layer one by one as they enter range, rather than having the same number of rounds to clear multiple layers.
1. Is evocalc accurate with that? (Is what I've said rubbish?)
2. When is taking out traps/abatis a good idea? When??
I'm in the top alliance of my server, and the members always say take out traps/abs first, so I'm wondering wtf!
Thanks
