so we are both correct in our assessments...a bot is intended to replicate the human process of game play...the fact that someone implemented a script constitutes hacking, which i know is not the reason bots were created...that is, if the script was indeed run through an existing bot and not just a straight hack...

Well, I'm not going to sit here and explain how bots work, but a script on a bot is not the kind of script your thinking it is, it is a list of processes the botter wants the bot to do in a specific order. Only 50 times faster than the player could do it, and 24 hours a day. So no, you are not correct, it was not a hack.

Can't blame them for trying to fix an issue.
But can argue about the way the tried to fix the issue....
Think instead of the 30mins wait to sell another 10 times,
i think it should be 100 times, then you gotta wait.
The problem was patched pretty much the day the markets were screwed up. That's why the prices didn't stay at 9999 per ress. So this has nothing to do with that particular problem, this is just something they decided to do.

Trade cap is a step in the right direction, although the number of trades is a little to low. All that remains to be done is to increase the trading fee on an exponential scale with respect to the total value of the transaction and the market should eventually find its way to a lower equilibrium.

if they're gonna raise the trade fee they'd be better off with no cap would equalize it faster

Well, the fact that the market shot right back up kinda disproves that theory.

For someone that calls everyone on here stupid you really aren't that analytically gifted. Did they implement the raising trade fee? No. Did they increase the cumulative quantity and spread of market and limit orders? No. So how exactly is my theory disproved? This 'problem' is very simple to fix in such a way that unless bot devs know how to program bots with high frequency trading formulae bot trading efficiency is going to decrease substantially giving an edge to the human doing the trading.

has evony even announced anywhere exactly how the friggen thing works now? or is it trial and error AGAIN and with the cost of comforting so now what u cant save ur city because u cant trade? great job leveling the palying feild on that one

it's a game not real world economics. no need for your real world hate fest.

lucas' solution would work if it was implemented short term only to reduce the disproportionate amount of gold available due to the glitch that caused market prices to rise so drastically.

it's not to try to stick it to "rich people." it's just to fix a problem caused by some cheaters

evony is damned if they do and damned if they don't. everyone complains about how the market is they do something to fix it and everyone complains about that. just give it a little time to work; then complain...
