Bots can trade in single batches of over 2 billion. The client itself is what limits us from doing these things by hand, but bots don't work through the client, so if you know how to take advantage of the evony code, it is easy to do.

Lots of glitches that are "bot only" because of this. Using alts items, troop glitches etc.

This is 100% factually inaccurate. The server-side consistancy checks have a restriction which is less than int.MAX_VALUE.

Do you know the value of int.MAX_VALUE

    Could it be 2,147,483,647
When I went to School int.MAX_VALUE was over 2 billion, what is it these day's

So am I just unobservant or is the change from max purchase/sale of 10mill to 100mill new? Accidentally bought 400mill food instead of 40, flash-buying, before I noticed. duh....

And now that there's actually something in the market to buy they take away our gold so we can't buy it anyway. As someone who has never botted I totally resent being punished for playing the game as they've built it.
Evony has reached my second-last straw and my last is a very short one. Let's see how long it takes for them to screw up again and make yet another long-time player walk away.

And how is food selling for 172 if it won't let you price it at over 150?

Only 50 times faster than the player could do it, and 24 hours a day. So no, you are not correct, it was not a hack.

The problem was patched pretty much the day the markets were screwed up. That's why the prices didn't stay at 9999 per ress. So this has nothing to do with that particular problem, this is just something they decided to do.

Say what you will...whether i am partly correct or not...your assessment is most assuredly not...people have been trading through scripts on bots for too long for this to all of the sudden happen...so unless someone can prove it wrong...i will believe hack...

I can't 'prove' anything but trust me it wasn't a hack. There wasn't some computer nerd remotely accessing the main server and changing the coding to 'mess up' the markets.

This has been explained a few times by other people but allow me to try to explain it in laymen's terms. There have been scripts available for a long time that allowed bots to buy and sell. However, because bots don't work through the same systems as a real player does they can 'uncover' glitches and that's where your thoughts of hacking comes from. The bots were able to exploit yet another glitch in the coding, breaking the market. Not cool.

So if anyone wants to know why this game is as glitchy as it is, y'all now know where the blame partially lies.

Thanks to Infinitus for the epic B'day pressie!

Thank you for the explanation...though i would still want to say hack...us normal people playing the game would have never come upon this glitch, though there have been many we have found...true this was not a person sitting in front of their computer changing the coding of the evony market, but does not using a third party software that essentially does mess with coding actually constitute a hack?...in my opinion it does...

we are all just saying it is these people running scripts within the bots...according to a programmer friend of mine, the bot is designed to emulate actual game play, though he did explain that running a buy/sell script on 10 cities would be impossible to do in the normal game interface...essentially it would operate at approximately 10x what a human could do, but this has been happening since the beginning...with the vast knowledge that many individuals in here have exhibited regarding programming and such, could this not be the workings of one disgruntled evony player?

the only reason i am asking this and going on this belief is, unless this was done unintentionally, what possible outcome was this person hoping for?...bringing an influx of gold into a system such as this, would have no practical purpose except what has happened, evony basically coming to a standstill...this sounds like the work of a hacker...

the bot doesn't mess with the coding, it uses it as written. there was just something in the programming that allowed the bots to do what they did to mess up the markets.

yes bots have been running a long time but that doesn't mean they would have to have found this particular glitch in the programming before now.

makes sense...still have never heard officially that this was because of a bot...people have all just been speculating...and sorry to evony mods and staff, even if they said it was, would be hard to believe them...cried wolf one too many times...
