FfVb Guide: How to make the forum easier to read

FfVb is a Firefox extension that allows you to customize the content you see on vBulletin forums

It allows you to ignore specific threads, completely ignore other users (it even blocks their post if people quotes them), and allows you to add keywords to get rid of topics that contain certain words like Sticky or Queen or quit

With this extension you can filter all of the annoyances from the forum and enjoy it once again

Here's a small guide to it.

Step 1) Download Firefox if you don't already use it

Step 2) Download the FfVb extension from here: http://www.tycamtech.com/

Step 3) Install the extension and restart Firefox

Step 4) Customize it

That's all there is to it. Here's some help with step 4 as it may be a bit confusing at the start.


Ok so you downloaded it, installed it, and now you have no idea what to do. Well right click anywhere on the forum and go to FfVb Management then select Settings / Options



Now the first thing I like to do is go to Other Options and disable the Sub Menu. You may like the Sub Menu but I have no use for it and it takes up part of my screen and I dislike sidebars so if you want to disable it then uncheck this box here:



Now you can go about using it in several ways. First off if you ignore anyone on the forums you still see when people quote them. Sometimes people quote them on purpose to bait you into responding. Well to get rid of that, go to the ignore users option in the evony control panel and you will see a new option that says: To import your ignore list into your FfVb extension Click Here. When you click that button all the users on your ignore list will now also be added to FfVb's ignore list.



To ignore a thread, simply click on the link to the thread and you will see where it gives you the option to ignore the thread:



You can also go back into the FfVb settings and add keyword filters so any threads with a specific keyword will automatically be ignored. This works great to ignore the queen of evony spam. Just add the keyword filter "Queen"



There's also a User Highlight and Thread Highlight feature which work the opposite of ignoring. This way you can highlight a thread you're interested in following and you can also highlight users to make their posts stand out more.
