I believe you joined exactly 2 years after me... Not even a year ago, you HUGE veteran pro. Don't lower yourself even more by trying to pick apart my application, Soaap. I'm sure he had his reasons (Most likely a shortage of app's) Funny how you guys assume I'm strutting around this place shoving my position into people's faces. I cannot think of ONE instance where I gave ANYONE a reason to suggest anything of the sort. I'm more than fair here and I'd like to know where ya'll get the nerve to suggest I don't "deserve" to be a mod here. In fact, I don't even overuse any mod "power" I have been entrusted with. I'm beginning to suspect that some of you sent in those applications to be a Mod and never got a reply. Now, because you just simply cannot get over my ULTRA LOW AND EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE (apparently) post count, you pick up the bully card and jump on the ONE teeny tiny part of my profile you could find. It's not a glorious position folks, sorry to break that to ya. If you want to be a moderator so badly, try acting respectfully towards other people. How about not tackling the only active moderator you can find. This convo has now reached a point where I stop responding, so make sure one of ya get the last stab at me. That extra insult or two for good measure

I'm going to refrain from issuing infractions for banter before this reply. Rest assured that from here out, infractions will be in order. Thanks for playing, enjoy your day and have fun
    Bro.

Threatening people with infractions if they reply negatively?

    Broooooo.

You're posting with holier than thou attitude whether you mean to or not. I personally don't give a **** about post count (I mean, I've got damn near 18,000), as long as you're objective (which you are), but you need to just sit back a little. You're too serious. Even for GD.

Well, for what it's worth, I like the new guy. But then, I'm a sucker for cool names, as Abstract and Dawnseeker can attest.

Yeah, until he infracts all over me...

You too KA. Back to your bar. Back! Get back, you!

And Deuc, you can only expect this kind of welcome from OT. It's part of the initiation.

as one of the funniest mindblowing non-ness, not in a good way, that has ever come across these threads. A CAREER? Oh my Odin, are you serious? A CAREER?!?!???

You misunderstand Acer, I assure you. I merely suggested I will "infract?" for Banter moving forward, not for a negative post. Where did you read that? I do not censor even if I disagree. Not too mention, I have no mod ability here in OT... I just got jumped on by a bunch of people about a stupid post count number, excuse me if I'm a tad bit touchy, seriously. If anyone wanted to see what my attitude is like, all they would need to do is look around the General Discussion area and they would see that I have no holier than thou attitude, quite the opposite actually. You can't stand around and kick a guy in the face for hours and then ask him why he is acting defensively after you stop for 5 minutes. Let the damn new guy alone for a few seconds to regroup, geeezus. I go into a conversation to defend my 173 post's and I come out rethinking sanity. This place is worse than an episode of Dr.Who (2005)
    Thank you kindly Wildor.

First off, you were speaking with previous moderators and are not yourself the only active moderator.
I think one hard lesson you need to learn as a moderator is restraint yourself, especially when dealing with OT. I tried to interject and get you to refrain from responding. They will not stop. At a glance, you should have completely ignored Soap's comment about your veteran status (or lack thereof) because you have indeed been a forum member for quite some time. Yet you responded? Why is this? When Ghost101 commented about new members and your post count, you responded with a paragraph long serious rebuttal, stating how you do not care about anything anyone says and they can get in line to discuss your post count. Why? And when KA commented on your attitude, an opinion he garnered from reading your "IDGAF about what anyone's opinion is, etc. etc.," you again responded. Now, I am not trying to discourage you from sticking up for yourself, but you have to realize that as a moderator, you are supposed to keep the peace. You did not merely respond, you accused them of being incapable of what you do, made Ghost out to be a hostile *******, and belittled their opinions by saying they did not matter to you. As a moderator, all of these actions are ill-advised. Especially in OT, it won't get you anything but disrespect from the members. If you truly don't care, brush it off and make fun of yourself. Or don't respond at all. All of us moderators have had to do it. This is all a big misunderstanding in my opinion. You got defensive and perhaps came off differently than you meant. And that's okay. I had many occasions where I got my ass handed to me while moderating for misinterpreting a situation and acting upon my misinterpretation. I've had to apologize. I've also had to ignore hate-filled remarks that were thrown at me. Mostly undeserved. And trust me, I can name several members that still loathe my name. The key is to truly not taking any of it personally.

However, your choice to threaten the members with infractions for (mostly) constructive criticism is out of line in and of itself. Especially after you added the sly "have a nice day " Might as well have said **** you to everybody. While Soap's comment was completely erroneous, KA brought up a good point. You can't come in and fly your "IDGAF" flag and expect to be treated nicely. You also can't expect a good reaction when you come in with a serious rebuttal in response to harmless comments. In OT, serious responses are like putting a sign up that says "Hate me!" You must have good foresight. And nothing in the preceeding posts qualified as "banter," in reality.

Now everybody kiss and make up or so help me i'll make Dawn give me back my axe and i'll whack all of you clean off the forum.

And Soap, he joined the forum before you. That's why you were wrong. Nothing personal.

This is pointless. If you think that Deuc isn't up for the job, then go take it up with Dawn or whoever makes that decision.

Play nicely? Since when has anyone played nicely in this post? I believe I came into it while being called out about my low post count, very rudely I may add. I play nicely, it was you that got all bent out of shape. Stop your fake intellectual deferring methods. I had no part of this downward spiral until the insults started flowing toward me.
Who said I wanted to have fun here in OT? I'm not the OP.
Keep on Keepin on, and leave me out of it. I don't play well with your kind of stupid.

    It's been a blast, truly
After viewing this post, and with keeping my promise to Sick, I will not reply exceeeeeept to say three things.
    1) I went online and found a study that I think you should be interested in ...

Dr Margina Arror, a highly respected member of forum phychogenic analysis and statistics & et al states: "The conclusion of our studies suggest members exhibiting symptoms of hubristic subdoli offendes tenues are bordering on stage two 'tard. Symptoms include, a total disrespect of the culture developed over the years of a certain "Social" thread group, feelings of superiority in assuming the members are stupid, whereas the converse is more accurate, unable or unwilling to take the wise advise of senior members during a most consise and complete intervention session, the inability to view sarcasm as sarcasm and the misuse and abuse of phony powers, threatening good standing members to "shutup or or or, I'll cry and infract you banterers you, waaaah waaaah waaaah." This member, should seek the advice of their spiriit guide, preferably Prof. Jack Daniels or Dr. Jim Beam or Minister Jose Cuervo, before they relapse into stage three 'tard. In the failure to do so, this disorder will become malignant, helplessly lost in their own self aggrandizements, where unfortunately as of now, there is no known cure, ..."
    2) I will recuse myself and forgive you your insolence, should you be man enough to issue your mea culpa

You may use this form ...

    .. and

    3) By not fullheartedly replying to such a delicious post, begging to be stomped upon like a baboon stomps upon a red blistered butt, I still have increased my post count by a factor of 1.

    WIN!!!!

PS, I would not make any remarks about my farts, you dont know my farts, I once blew out an oil rig fire with a beer fart from hell, in Kuwait. Hurricanes are child's play. Sandy was a mistake, however -- I had eaten some oysters infected with red algae and drank somekind of Seminole remedy to ease the digestion. Did NOT go well. Sozy New Jersey, Long Island &c. =/

i believe the word "career" was used offhandedly, whether true or not that does not give you the right to tell him what to do.

    Default Great Read

There are many members who peruse/use the forumns mostly for the sharing and learning of game advice/mechanics.we keep our heads low and know that their are often more senior members who will debate a topic for us.But I must say the last couple of pages has been the most gripping, enthrawling read,it kept me on the edge of my seat and still reading long after I should have left for appointments,I literally could not tear myself away.

In short it has been one of the best knockdown debates I have seen in this forumn for quite awhile and I loved every second of it.loved it,loved it LUUURVED IT! lol

Summary: All persons were correct it was only that the ppl injected themselves into others posts rather than standing back and looking at them subjectively and in context.

    *looks at thread title*

Holy crap, this is prophetic. In my mind, if there is only one thing that a mod will ever need to be successful, it will be the ability to both get and receive trust from the people whose stomping grounds they moderate. If a new guy comes aboard out of nowhere (like I did the first time), they are going to be guaranteed that some flak is going to be coming their way because people simply don't know them, never mind don't trust them.

You seem to be taking the exact same approach I did when I got the brunt of their disappointment, when I first got that green badge. I chose to fight it directly because in my pride I decided to show them I was right, instead of taking the more honorable approach and actually socializing with them (which would have saved SO much grief). Needless to say, it was a big mistake, because it confirmed their fears that I would turn out to be yet another trigger-happy maniac who didn't really have a place in this community. And believe it or not, that's what I found myself turning into as things got worse. I got paranoid, and so did they. And it got pretty frickin' bad, until I finally got it through my incredibly thick skull that perhaps everyone (even those without the damn green badge) felt the same way I did.

Sure, I never got into "the cool clubs" half the time. So what? At least I actually ended up taking the time to know people and talk to them like intelligent people and actually have some good-natured fun instead of arguing with them or having fights in The King's Bar (which it was originally named). They had to know me to trust me, and even while people still think (rightly) that I'm crazy, at least we've grown to have at least some sort of respect for each other.

If you want to start a war with everyone, go right ahead and knock yourself out. But realize that both sides are going to lose miserably. People will hate you with a passion until you leave, they will hardly give anything resembling respect from those who've seen (and felt) you launch an all-out fight with the community at large. Sure, they'll eventually suffer warnings, infractions, and possible bans as the conflict gets worse and worse, but it'll come right back and haunt you because everyone who comes by will see what a savage tyrant you're making yourself look like here, and they'll be all too glad to replace the ranks of those who got hammered because they felt they had enough of you and finally cut loose.

...Or, you can do what I did and bury the hatchet. There are other ways of calming down this tribe of savages than shooting at us, because I guarantee you that shots are already being fired back as I write this post. Get to know us. It'll be far more rewarding than fighting us on our own hallowed (and war-torn) ground.

By saying this stuff, I know that nobody's right. There are plenty of harsh insults thrown around, and even the intelligence and honor of some people have been called into question. We all see the damage we've done to each other, so let's learn from it and actually move the hell on with our lives.
