First off, you were speaking with previous moderators and are not yourself the only active moderator.
I think one hard lesson you need to learn as a moderator is restraint yourself, especially when dealing with OT. I tried to interject and get you to refrain from responding. They will not stop. At a glance, you should have completely ignored Soap's comment about your veteran status (or lack thereof) because you have indeed been a forum member for quite some time. Yet you responded? Why is this? When Ghost101 commented about new members and your post count, you responded with a paragraph long serious rebuttal, stating how you do not care about anything anyone says and they can get in line to discuss your post count. Why? And when KA commented on your attitude, an opinion he garnered from reading your "IDGAF about what anyone's opinion is, etc. etc.," you again responded. Now, I am not trying to discourage you from sticking up for yourself, but you have to realize that as a moderator, you are supposed to
keep the peace. You did not merely respond, you accused them of being incapable of what you do, made Ghost out to be a hostile *******, and belittled their opinions by saying they did not matter to you. As a moderator, all of these actions are ill-advised. Especially in OT, it won't get you anything but disrespect from the members. If you truly don't care, brush it off and make fun of yourself. Or don't respond at all. All of us moderators have had to do it. This is all a big misunderstanding in my opinion. You got defensive and perhaps came off differently than you meant. And that's okay. I had many occasions where I got my ass handed to me while moderating for misinterpreting a situation and acting upon my misinterpretation. I've had to apologize. I've also had to ignore hate-filled remarks that were thrown at me. Mostly undeserved. And trust me, I can name several members that still loathe my name. The key is to truly not taking any of it personally.
However, your choice to threaten the members with infractions for (mostly) constructive criticism is out of line in and of itself. Especially after you added the sly "have a nice day

" Might as well have said **** you to everybody. While Soap's comment was completely erroneous, KA brought up a good point. You can't come in and fly your "IDGAF" flag and expect to be treated nicely. You also can't expect a good reaction when you come in with a serious rebuttal in response to harmless comments. In OT, serious responses are like putting a sign up that says "Hate me!" You must have good foresight. And nothing in the preceeding posts qualified as "banter," in reality.
Now everybody kiss and make up or so help me i'll make Dawn give me back my axe and i'll whack all of you clean off the forum.
And Soap, he joined the forum before you. That's why you were wrong. Nothing personal.
