Four Years with pretty much the same group.. evony needs to merge ss50.. when the money stops they will have to merge it or a lot will quit due to boredom. Have to have new challenges in the game and its been stale a long, long time. If evony doesn't do something eventually there wont be anyone to fight.. period... people will move on to new games and new challenges. Merge us .. until then.. my $ will not longer be spent.

Unfortunately your idea while noble is not gonna work. If you're all blue you'll all starve. To avoid starving you'll holiday. To holiday you'll coin. If you coin, evony doesn't give a rat's ass if you're blue or red or multi-colored rainbows.

We need a merge on SS50. Death is walking the fields of SS50 and not the good kind. Death by boredom

Come on admins....merge us already. Stop making new servers and keep the loyal fans happy. SS50 sucks now....

Funny how I see no admins commenting here....pfffft typical

Evony doesn't care what you do with your accounts. logging in your mains and your alts and doing nothing is the same to them as logging in to attack. Two rounds of captcha killed my server and now we make up competitions to try and pass the time while we wait and hope for a server merge.

Compare the number of heroes on your server to the number of heroes on other servers. If your server is really dead you should have less pages of heroes. You can say they are alts but in evony's eyes an alt is no different than a main.

So many debby downers out there. We can sit here and try the same thing over and expect different results. Or we can try something new, and see where that takes us. It might be the same end result but maybe the view is a little better.

All the older super servers are dying and merges for older servers have not happened for quite a while. Server merges seem to be based on activity, on most of the older servers there are 100's if not 1,000's of accounts logged daily. They farm, build, grow and many attack, they take cities, they lose cities - and maps are crowded and states are full. Yet the number of active players is dropping. Daily, weekly, but dropping. All servers want new blood, but where would they go?
The states are crammed full on most servers, to make it even interesting and have enough live players you would need to merge three or four super servers. They won't all fit on the map anymore.
Evony staff have moved on to their new game, they don't seem to plan to expand the map sizes to accommodate the massive amounts of cities or accounts that would need to be moved for any of the super servers to merge together. Programming takes money and time and Evony may simply no longer see any profit in rewriting code to make the maps so much larger.
Instead they open new servers and merge them every few months, leaving the super servers to slowly be crushed under the weight of the alts.
To get merges instead of pulling a server wide truce or closing your wallets, maybe you should turn off some auto farmed extra accounts.
Radical thought here - what if everyone quit running lots and lots of accounts? What if players all agreed to throttle back to a smaller number of accounts, fewer cities, fewer troops and found they could live with it? Then maybe older servers could have merges too.
It might be a question of what is more important - a dying server with dozens of alts, billions of res and troops? Or smaller accounts, fewer alts and brand new opponents?
Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But since what we have tried so far has not gotten us anywhere, maybe we should change the way we do things and see if it gets us where we want to go. After four years of playing I'm not excited about starting over on a new server just to get new faces, I want to meet new opponents with the account and heroes I've spent money to build. Think about it, what do we have to lose?

Well the solution I proposed (and also understand is unrealistic) is more of a compromise of sorts. If Evony were to return NPCs to the way they were originally designed, they could start to enforce the rules without losing players. But that would require them to do work. People wouldn't need the alts to run 300-900m upkeep war cities. Some would try to have them, but Evony would be enforcing the rules, so they would be banned.

Believe it or not, this actually worked at one point... Not sure why they never tried what worked the first time again.
