From Evony's standpoint they made the game to be a certain way and we 'broke' it by changing the way we use their product. They don't seem to overly concerned with enforcing the ToS much anymore, if they did then there would be very few players left and the income would drop further than it already has. I can't see them wanting to bend to change things for us, even changing the npc's back to the much missed hourly refill and even if they did, players would not give up their many alts. Instead armies would grow larger and larger.
We do need to compromise more to get what we want, and it has to a lot of people working together. Players have to agree, alliances, servers and even the evony staff needs to come on board. And even if you get all of them to agree to try it, people have to honor the commitment and not start running more alts again. I see players in wc who claim no one will fight or play with them. Scout reports with troops that eat 4b food an hour and they are upset no one will play. So they port in on people they know cannot do any damage and use an automated attack and then get upset when the player truces or ports.
These players with massive cities don't fight each other, I don't know if its because they know that they would need to go back to rebuilding for a while or if they simply are not willing to risk losing something by playing an equally sized opponent. If more players were equally sized then maybe we could have battles again and people would be more willing to fight.
The clock is going to eventually run out on us all as servers go dark. So our time to 'fix' this is finite. The three year mark is fast approaching for many of the merged servers, how many active players were there when you merged?
How many were there a year ago? Six months ago?
How many are there today?
How many will be there in six months?
