    Yea, that was my major issue with it. Only reason I built them was for mechanics. I didn't want to see mass ballistas come in wipe out my ATs.

    So I was surprised this happened on some archers.

    DS I know I can not build them anymore or cancel them which I might do. My point was simply that this must be just a cosmetic change to the name and not an actual game mechanic change.

    Actually... No it isn't. Before the name change rockfalls did have a range of 1300.

    Then correct it, and prove it. Because that IS the range displayed and the range that WAS displayed when they were called Rockfall.

    Regardless, range is utterly irrevelant to the point of the OP. One-use items like Rolling Logs and Defensive Trebuchets should NEVER EVER be triggered when you are attacked by 10 warriors.

    Period.

    I can just see the conversation in the HQ -

    Solder : "Commander, 10 enemies have been spotted running towards our gates Sir!"
    Commander : "Activate Rolling Logs, fire defensive Trebuchets!"
    Soldier : "Errr sir, our Archers Towers should be able to kill them easily and they don't get expanded."
    Commander : "NONSENSE! We need to use up our expensive fortifications first against these inconsequential attacks otherwise next year they'll cut our budgets!"

    I just did an experiment. I attacked a level 6 NPC city, and got these results:

    I have level 10 archery. If the range of defensive trebuchets was 1300 like the stat says, then my ballistas would have outranged them by 20. (1400 * 1.5 = 2100) vs (1300 * 1.6 = 2080)

    As far as I'm concerned, this proves that Dawnseeker is correct about the range being increased. Now, it would be nice for the devs to update the stats to the new figure. DS, any way you can get the real stat from them and post it here?

    --Side Note-- Why do level 6 cities have Defensive Trebs at all? Level 6 wall doesn't support them for human players!

    It's an NPC buff.
    Someone else pointed out, they trigger as always, on any army so a few waves of meat shields and they are gone. It takes more stone to make 100 of these things than it does to upgrade walls to level 10, so they are a place to throw stone you can't find any place else to put, after you have 12K or so Archer towers.

    NPC regen at astranomical rates. A Lv. 3 NPC city will regen 75 Archer towers in 5 minutes (tested with multiple waves) so they don't adhere to build times. But they also regen loyalty at insane rates so this is just an Icing on the cake NPC addition.

    If they change the trigger to Mech only, they might become more.

    They really shouldn't fire at men. It might not be considered broken by the Evony team. But it is silly. Imagine 1000 archer towers, and an invasion of warriors. But the general insists on throwing away all the trebuchets so the archers don't have to use any arrows on the warriors. Then ballistas show up, and the archers are stuffed.

    the description says they are excellent on seige weapons. What the description should say is excellent on worthless men and losing honor points.
