Zer0 - The Bill of Rights, including the First Amendment applies to what the government can and can't do, and does not apply to private citizens or corporations, et al. Let's keep in mind the First Amendment states specifically who the law applies to. Congress shall make no law...
If you read the General Discussion thread related to the First Amendment, you'll see what the deal is. Additionally, those write ups you copy pasta'ed, if you were to read them, you'd see that they have to do with schools. The internet is an educational tool but not a public school. Additionally, this is a private company's system, and I didn't read anything related to how private communications in private communities would be regulated. Now let's remember that laws are a list of what you cannot do, not what you are allowed to do. So unless there is something super specific, such as "one may not speakest ill of the private lives of others or be sentenced to ten lashes in the public commons," it would be game on. (Particularly in the realms of free speech/free expression and government regulation.)
Now, social contracts are generally what keep people from doing that. An example would be, not speaking ill of someone's significant other in a bar. While the government cannot prevent that, social contracts may, as most people don't want to have a broken nose. Seriously though, it's as simple as what we learned in kindergarten. Treat others how you wish to be treated. If someone is being "mean" leave them alone.
I will add this, don't talk about your private life in a game if you don't want it to possibly be used against you in the future. At least not in a competitive game. Even amongst great friends competition can make things interesting.
That's it. All I'm saying.

Flaming CHICKEN!
