You say to move past this and to man up, Yes I do take it personally because when you allow such incidents to occur online you are making us (as a community) look bad. Not every gamer will verbally attack others, but the few that do goes to prove the point that gamers online are all arrogant/egotistical/jerks. I keep track of not only abuse of harassment against me but the harassment done to everyone on the servers I play and I will continue to report such abuse till something is changed. We dont need people to made fun of for game play, moral values, or any beliefs they have, that is not what this game is about. We fight with digital armies, we try to take down enemy alliances, but no one should think for a second that bringing down another player either emotionally or mentally should be allowed.
It's pretty much anywhere you go. The difference between the average gamer and the hardcore gamer is the average gamer wants to have fun and experience the game. The diehards are pretty much focused with domination and the means really isn't very important. That's why it's important to recognize which category you fall in and learn to shape the gaming experience to match your desires. To the average gamer this is a game. To the hardcore gamer this is war. That's why you see so many post stressing the "war" in war game while discounting the "game" end of it. That's why you see such contrasting approaches to this game. Some still play it on the up and up (no need to go into specifics here) and leave servers before mech wars get heavy while others don't feel the server actually begins until heavy mech begins.

I became disheartened with this game a few years back after various aspects were made commonplace that changed how the game is played. These things made the game better for some and completely ruined the game for others. I was one of the latter and left evony for about a year. I returned a few months ago with a different approach to this game and it's made my experience here much better. I no longer coin and I move on to new servers after playing the game legally is no longer feasible. It's made my personal experience here much better. Now I don't have to worry about losing anything I've invested in and I can play the game with at least a shade of semblance to what evony was back when this game was enjoyable to all.
