Poor Brasil. They just couldn't deal with the pressure of home court. I agree with you Wildor, they should've been put under some sort of isolation during the tournament, but it's also hard to face angry fans in the stands every time your team doesn't perform the way they want them to perform. 7-1 definitely doesn't indicate the strength of German team, after all they barely made it past Algeria. But after that first goal, Brasil players looked totally lost on the pitch and couldn't consolidate fast enough. I believe they missed their captain more than Neymar, Dante is just too slow for German attackers and this was his first game in the tournament. Hopefully Brasilians can bounce back from this disaster, they did not deserve to go out like this.

On a side note, Klose played on more World Cups than Ronaldo did, but still impressive record.

Dammit! Now my favorite team lost. I wonder if Van Persie got hurt or exhausted or both. He just wasn't the same after the first game.

So... A Germany-Argentina final. I admit I'm at a loss to predict who'll take this thing.

Sad they are out as well... Outside of the US, I liked them best!

And as to who wins the final, I'd say a lot of it depends on the availability of Di Maria.

Aguero and Di Maria should be ready for the finals so it should be one hell of a game.

And, just like that, it's over.

RIP World Cup. See you in 4 years, when America suddenly loves soccer again...

That's good Siphon. Same holds true up here.

I'm sorry I didn't come back to this sooner, but I just couldn't log on for some reason... ( I blame Logrus! )

To me, this was the Mundial of the unexpected. Nothing happened as it was supposed to. The collapse of Spain early and of Brasil late, the great showing of Costa Rica and other nations not considered the elite, the Dutch suddenly putting themselves forward as among the favorites and then not making the final, France doing much better than expected, a torrent of goals scored early on... and a final won 1-0 in overtime By Germany over Argentina. Now, you would have told me before the game that it would be won that way, I would have sworn Argentina would win it then, tightening up defensively and using brilliant forwards to capitalize on an opportunity. The German machine should be expected to win by scoring two or three goals...

Oh well... that's what makes high level sporting events so interesting I guess. Can't wait for the next Euro!
