This is how it used to be. Its easier to defend 20 people without less then 100% perfect timing then it is to defend 1 person with 100% accurate timing. look at how many people have survived gang bangs in the past.

This is very true, But without the bot attacking a single person is rather limited in what they can accomplish. Instead of 4 minutes to react a defender instead has 30 minutes to react to 150 waves for instance, That means even offline there is more chance of someone noticing. or at the very least getting the hell outta dodge.

Undoubtedly. You are using what the game allows to its fullest extent, and im not denying that. I personally don't like that its possible to make defense practically impossible because it discourages online fighting, online battles are always more fun then offline kills. Copying a persons tricks will never work, because they know how to defend their own tricks. Thats what makes them tricks.

That said, its good to have a challenge again :P
