When a top-100 ranked player suddenly starts plundering all your allies' cities, you start thinking of ways to stop him, that's all.

I could post the hundreds of battle reports from both sides, but that's not the point... the point is that just because someone has 170k archers in their city doesn't mean they can't be defeated, and that was the only point I wanted anyone to see.

Of course there is no single attack report showing a victorious attack against a single city with 450k archers inside... I'm sorry if anyone thought that was my claim, I sure didn't mean it like that. But this player went from plundering many players to not being able to plunder any at all, with quick work on defense strategy and careful, co-ordinated planning on offense.
So we've gone from "I killed off 450k archers with only 100k losses" to "well he attacked my alliance". Killing that many archers while DEFENDING is very easy. Breaking through that kind of defense is not. If this was an alliance operation, then you also need to add in all the troops your alliance mates lost. You may have lost only 100k, but you alliance could have lost millions.
