I have five cities so this equals 425 prestige per hour, not all that bad, many people have more cities.

425 an hour = POINTLESS. why waste all that time , pointlessly. i get an average of 200-300 prestiege. per comforting i do ( praying). i can make a good 750prestiege in 1hour in just once city alone. i have 5 cities, so it all adds up!. upgrading, & research! also gets you prestiege. :/ ! ur wasiting alot of resources, & time buddy, sorry to tell you. lol.

    Default More hero's?

Would it be advised to try this method with less units per attack and just send 70-80 hero's?

Default Things to do when you get the warning that you are being attacked

Firstly this is a guide for newcomers who are just out of beginners protection and don't have any alliance to help themselves, they are frequently attacked by bigger players for resources and fun

here is list of things to do when you get warning through the reports that you are being attacked [the bird on the report flashes red]

1)If you have good level of bacon tower and informatics, you will know what army is attacking you. if you don't have well level of bacon tower, you wont get the number of troops those are attacking you.

2)If you have fortifications, its better, if you don't have fortifications and your wall level is not good too[3-4] i suggest that appoint hero of good poly. and start building fortification in SMALL quantity so that it is built in time to defend.
try if you can give many smaller orders.

3)check out if troops are coming in waves or something. as you are beginner, mostly troops are sent to plunder you not to conquer your city, so it will be a single wave, if you have more than one city, players may try to conquer your main city.
if troops are coming in waves and you have two cities, just reduce tax rate to 0 as this will increase loyalty, and it will take more time to conquer your city.
i suggest to abanden your smaller city if you haven't upgraded it much when loyalty of your main city reaches to 25-30 or something.

4)open the gates to fight only if you have better troops to fight with coming army, DO NOT DEPEND ON RALLY SPOT EXERCISE as it do not consider hero attack stat and tech. etc. use your brain and open the gates only if you think you can fight with those troops and win.

5)Appoint hero of high attack stat., which will increase attack of your fortification [and troops if you have opened gates]

6)If you think you cant fight with those troops, you still can save your resources, only if you have conquered a valley or something or if you have alliance and you know co-ordinates of your alliance members.
just wait until 5 minutes remaining to attack then grab all your army and reinforce them to a valley. [your troops should take time more than time remaining to attack to reach the valley] send your resources with them [Mainly gold and lumber] don't grab your food as it will help to keep other resources if it is in good amounts.
immediately recall your troops when attack is over, but this technique wont work if you are being attacked in waves.

what else, you can make your own techniques to save yourself.
    thank you.

Have they fixed the buy with the attack timing on siege. Before, it was not accurate at all, so you could not rely on it. Worked fine for infantry and calvary, but once siege was added, it was never accurate in the attack window...only once you sent the attack and saw the actual timing.

I don’t think that’s true. Actually quite the opposite. The hero that appears in the battle reports as defending is chosen (seemingly randomly) from among the idle heroes in the feasting hall at the time of battle. In order to insure that your highest attack rating hero is the defender, you must have only that hero idle. You definitely don’t want him to be mayor!

Other than that, a nice guide for beginners to use.

Actually from previous experience, it is the highest attack hero that's idle in the city. if 2 are tied though then they are randomly selected.

I'm unsure on that as I almost always have a politics hero mayor in my citys.
(I find it kinda sad that I know all my mayors by name and if they aren't mayor I can tell in half a second when I look at the feasting hall)

It is sad. And I'm with you. Gene, Tracy. I think the highest attack leads it whether mayor or not. It would usually be rare for the mayor to have the highest attack, but everybody has their own play style.
Why is it you can find disgruntled people, but no gruntled ones.
