Thread: Importance of Range: Explained

So here's a question. I build an attack city, upgrade cottage (L2), rally spot (L2) & feasting hall (L1) first, then town hall (L2) and onto academy (to L5). Why academy to L5? so i get the benefit of my construction research. makes sense?

Well, i tested the build time before and after upgrading academy from L4 to L5, and it made no difference at all. Rally Spot to L3 took 1min 59secs (with political hero as mayor of course) before and after the L5 academy upgrade.

Does this mean you get your research in cities that don't have academy? Or not? What have other people found?

you can only get its benefit once your academy in your 2nd, 3rd 4th... city has the level that equals the lev of the academy that you used to upgrade construction level in your different city, your hero's politics counts in the making of your academy, the higher its lev, the faster the academy's upgrade to be quicker, construction need academy lev 9, so you must build it up to the current lev that spoken upon.

horseback riding simply brings ballistas into range faster.
if your ballistas outrange the archer towers, a lower horse back riding is better because it allows you to remain out of range for as long as possible while attacking them. however, if the archer towers outrange you (most of the time) a high horseback riding will allow your ballista to close in faster and is better.

Ok, so you're upset that takeing 10% off 100 is 90, then an additional 10% is 81, and so on which means you will never upgrade to instant? Even with the modern tools we have now (nailguns, electric saws, excetera) it still actualy takes someone some time to build a structure. If you don't like atleast a hint of reality in your fantasy there are lots of **** sights that offer totaly fake fantasy.

After 10 levels it is 100% - it is 10% off the original Benchmark.

It's just basic middle school math. But one never needs to use "that stuff" again in real life, right?

    This does have it's shortcomings.

If you use it to get close to a player you want to attack and he is alert, city is virtually defenseless. Even if you manage to get your troops moved you have no wall fortifications except for abatis. This makes you a relatively easy target.

It is a great way to move around but not helpful for attack like Adv. Teleport would be.
