Default A Radical NPC proposal: RAGING HORDE

    THE RAGING HORDE

    ---

I actually don't mind the idea of clearing ridiculous excess NPCs created by players. Worse problem by far in my opinion is defending archers/ballista/catapults getting wall height bonus anyway.

There are two NPC nerf I've heard so far that I liked - (1) make NPC rotate in level daily and (2) make NPC level generated dependent on Town Hall level (in fact I suggested the second idea myself in the past).

    Here's one more.

Have NPC send out raids against players - probably with higher frequency of attacks sent to players who regularly raid NPCs.

If this is possible to code, make NPCs in a given area communicate with each other so that they know who to punish. In other words, raiding NPC1 could get a reprisal from a nearby NPC9.

Now to make this even more interesting, increase troops in some higher level NPCs - after all an army with 6.25k archer is fairly laughable. Hopefully with removal of wall defense buff for troops, the NPC raids will become a real annoyance.

For obvious reasons, NPCs (aka Barbarians) cannot attack players in beginner protection.

This would change the game quite dramatically of course. It would also give a potentially interesting twist to making tons of NPCs near your cities for "farming". Now, go have a ball making fun of this idea or tweaking it.

I also like the idea of NPC's that fight back. It makes it more realistic.
How about just making them reset to a flat once they cycle to lvl 10?
I think its a logical solution to npc over population and still gives everyone a chance to get their medals.

It's a fun idea, but it would require some ai coding... better fix the database issues first or it'll lock up the servers' performance.

Yes. I already said I liked the cycle idea too - your version is fine too.

Just take NPCs out of the game. /sarcasm

I'm tired of people making ridiculous suggestions to continue the nerfs to this game. Do you even think before making a post such as this?

NPC regen rates, from a lvl 10 are insane. Allowing npc towns to launch raids would effectively destroy the casual player, the new player, and eventually the established player. Only the veteran player, who might still have the ability to take out any nearby lvl 10 npc, would remotely stand a chance to survive the game long term.

Plus, what would be the reward from getting attacked repetitiously by npcs? You'd have your walls emptied out, your army beat up, and your resources plundered.. for what?

Why not commit to thinking about real improvements to the game, which would bring enjoyment to casual and new players.

If I wanted to be attacked by computer AI, I'd go buy a RTS game and play it. This is an MMO strategy game, and to me, the whole point is to out-think, outmaneuver, and outgun your opponent.

    bleh...

Do any of you have fully-stocked level 10 walls?

Unless the barbarians get B-52s, their attacks would be pointless. I don't care if half a million warriors from a Level 10 try to storm my walls - I know they'll get owned.

I love the contrasting opinion on how Barbarian attacks would change the game.

Now note - I thought about this enough to propose that players who don't attack npcs (for farming or otherwise) is less likely to get attacked by barbarian raids. In other words, casual players may go months without getting raided by barbarians - no touch, no harm.

I wrote my proposal with tongue in cheek, but you people are wrong to think that this idea is ridiculous or given without much thought.

Actually, my opinion and the opinion of the other poster you quoted weren't all that different.

The first poster said barbarian attacks would be more harmful to casual players, and then their damage would finally make their way to experienced players. I happen to agree with him that this idea would harm casual and lower-level players much more than it would the more established players.

As far as experienced players go, we'd be able to handle NPC raids fairly easily, provided that there aren't any stupid surprises like a B-52 showing up to fight for the barbarians.

So we're not really contrasting - we just focused on different aspects.

You're right to point that out. I also did say the following (see below). 6.25k archer is from NPC9 by the way.
