There are a lot of loopholes in it. Imagine if you send 1 ballista to attack a player. And there is no asdasdwd to destroy that ballista. Your towers will get kill 1by1 if that ballista outranges it. And the ballista returns home safely. (Gate closed)
I see some reasons why that 100rounds is there at the beginning/start of the game. I think is fair to have that 100rounds. if 100rounds is too little. Increase it to 200. Please don’t totally abandon it. It will lead to other abuse.
THere seems to be a major bug in this update. I just fought a 100 round battle, lost to the defender, however, I did not lose a single unit in the actual combat. My Hero returned to the Hall....and all of my troops were gone..not even any in the Medic Camp.
