    I think he sent those troops on a scouting mission not an attack mission. Some people have figured that tossing archers into the mix will help kill the scouts if they encounter open gates. I've not tried it myself so I cannot say for sure as to whether or not it works.

    No i sent an attack. That's how I always do it. The city was already dead. I sent simular waves and recieved victory. That time it decided defeat.
    Don't get me wrong, I love this game. I just hate the way it's handled.

    You could implement something like a 'rapid fire' for each unit. Basically each unit would get extra chances to attack during each round if certain enemy units were present. For example, AT's could have 10 rapid fire against warriors 5 against swords and 1 against archers. For every warrior present each AT would have a % chance to attack more than once that round. Ground units could also have a similar benefit against each other and against defensive units.
