Thread: So, what is the Evony team?

Default So, what is the Evony team?

I'm seriously wondering - who are these people behind Evony?

Normally in an MMO or browser based game, there is an URL to the corporate website that shows where they are based, and how many people are employed, what their mission statement is, who the CEO and senior managers are, how to contact them, and so on.

None of that with Evony. When Evony sent out those calls for people coming to work for them from home, I genuinely was interested (Master in Game Design and Development). But since I couldn't find any corporate information at all, I just gave it a miss as it just didn't look very professional to me at all.

Now I get the impression that it's a rather loose club of people that work from various places or from home, but even in that case I'd still like to see who the founders are and where they are located.

It's all too vague and shadowy. Who are these people behind Evony?

well the hard part about adding content is that alot of threads I post in are not so much Evony related anymore, they are threads that are devoid of actual "content" such as the rainegirl corner.

thats why I dont go around spamming other parts of the board its pretty much limited to here and I may expand into OTF but im not sure yet

And then C, players that rarely play or participate in the community.

If a company is known for reckless business practices, chances are any product they develop is tainted and does not have a long shelf life span. The people worried about what they are hearing regarding lawsuits and scams are legit, NOBODY wants to spend time and money on something that is a risky investment.

So, Let's keep this on topic and the people who DO have concrete information share it. Let's not turn this into a thread to boost post counts with posts nobody cares to read.

Actually, Kemp falls into D. People who dont' play the game (has been proven) and spend all day on the forum. I'm trying to find the link another player showed me a month ago dealing with lawsuits, but it's buried in the forums. Will post it when I find it. I know of a few players who have a few 100 dollar legal actions against Evony already. I'm sure AOE and CIV would have sued Civony if they haden't changed the name and graphics. (< copyright infringement). Will keep looking for that link.

I hope UGME learns how to make good games after this, I really did enjoy Evony for like a month before it borked

I dont care about copyright infringements or who had what lawsuit on who and I don't think many of the other players do either

God how am I agreeing with you? It's the end of the world.

My sentiments exactly. You get into the whole copyright case and you start to see how companies skipped out or dodged the bullet by pulling little stunts. Look at WoW. That game has borrowed EVERYTHING from previous MMOS. All they do is change a few names and they're golden.

While I do worry about lawsuits that imply fruad, I do agree that the first month of this game was REALLY fun. I hope the game returns back to that, but Dawnseeker has me doubting it.

No, people who buy in are looking for an advantage and don't care about who they are buying from or the what their history is.

    Next?
