WOW. I never knew sending massive amounts of cavalry would kill a pure archer army. Oh, wait. I DID. There are no such things as "perfect conditions" in this game Valuk, and defending yourself with one is dumb. Of course, in everday conditions, 12 units can kill of 125,000 attack force.
This wall change was probably added because the noobs complained. But even with the change they're too noob to actually take advantage of it anyway, so it just ended up affecting the strong players.
Strong players are not the target of this company. They want the weak ones to spend money to catch up or have a fighting chance. Not players who know how to play the game without buying items at exorbitant prices. On war, +100,000 experience for Hero is $10 USD! I can get 93k exp from attacking a lvl 5 NPC. Mich script is $5 for one building! But not for those who can conquer lvl 10 npc.
What everyone should do now is crush the newbies some more so there will be more complaints. Perhaps then something else might change.

crush the noobies is virtually the only option, bbq sauce did FA to answer or even vaguely address the ACTUAL issue which is you cant take out a lvl 10 well defended wall without 100X the losses, like half an alliance to conquer one city, it's stupid to just say.. "oh well boys, you gotta try new tactics pfffffft, thats not moderating, thats masturbating!

Taking people cities is as good as removing them from your server.
This has nothing to do with money. It has nothing to do with better at the game.
I suspect the devs asked them self, why do people obsess with driving others out of the game? Why is it the focused goal to shove out a playerbase?
We lost 40% of our alliance to people who would barb main cities. Not take them and keep them but take them and abandon them. Just because, out of the blue a player would tele in, wipe out a main city or 2. No rhyme or reason because there was no limit on the size of the army you could build and because I they didnt want to stop life to play Evony, they had thier game gutted.
Maybe the wall buff isn't perfect but as long as there are misery mongering wh0res like that in Evony? Wait. Grow your weaker members, do something besides look to feed on the misery of others. Why does it all come down to you leave or I didnt win? It's only a game, get a grip then.
Ask yourself this, if you aren't attacking a player, and wiping them out...
What is left to do in the game?
Answer: Nothing.
Say I have 6 level 9 TH towns, what can I do next? Build another town to level 9. Now I have 7 level 9 TH towns. What now? Build another. Now I have 8... yadda yadda. So I keep doing the exact same thing over and over and over until I hit the town cap. Now I have what to do exactly?
You have 2 interactions with other players
1) Alliance members, you can reinforce / transport to and from them.
2) Non-Alliance members, you can attack them. That's it.
If you want any multiplayer aspect to this game, then that means you want to attack other players.
Lara, the whole point is that it's still really easy to take out a newer player, but almost impossible to conquer one with a well defended lvl 9-10wall, so..... lookout newbies, cos there's nothing else to hit, the very people they where supposedly trying to protect are now the only game in town!
