While most of your post makes intelligent arguments (some of which I happen to disagree with, obviously), this one's a little silly. Alienating some the top players will not attract more paying customers than would have come otherwise, and an intelligent business doesn't make moves that lose them 1% of their paying customers with no possible gain. You'll never see Hershey saying "if we change the recipe of one of our chocolate bars, we won't save any money and the chocolate won't taste any better, but at least we'll lose a million customers. Let's do it! After all, we're bound to gain more customers eventually!"

People make your sort of "if you don't like it, leave" argument frequently. While it's a satisfying thing to say from a player's standpoint, it's a very bad business model.

I remember none other than Dawnseeker proclaiming in this forum:

"If you want to be honorable, then be honorable."

The implied statement is, if you want to be dishonorable, then you are also allowed to be dishonorable.

Discovering exploits and utilizing them IS part of playing a computer game, sportsmanship or not. Some may argue it to be dishonorable but until the game code addresses it, no one can predict if the programmers believe this is "Cheating" or a legitimate way to build your prestige. Though I did not practice this exploit, I strongly disagree resetting these player's prestige to zero. If they found the exploit, good for them. In fact developers should be grateful that these players tested their system and finding it out as they perfect their product.

I noticed that most of you are probably affected. Way to whine.

The dev's said it was an exploit, therefore it was an exploit. If you do not like this fact, or the fact that you were punished for using what was OBVIOUSLY a friggin exploit, you can always leave.

The fact is, is that the number of people who were punished sit in the hundreds when the game population is in the hundreds of thousands. Therefor, if you leave you will not be missed.

Yes, you are right....it became an exploit as of today...before then it was nothing more than a part of the game. So to be fair...if you could somehow use this tactic and gain prestige from doing it today, then you are exploiting or cheating. Noone has broken any rules from doing this in the past.

Your arguments are that it was within the ability of the software to do this, so it's not an exploit and was perfectly fine.

    So be it.

It is also within the ability of the software for Evony to reset your prestige, so logically that is also perfectly fine.

    Have a good day

I was glad that no one in my alliance was affected, but I thought the reset was kind of ridiculous/extreme. they should have maybe taken a certain percentage of your prestige, because now people who didn't think that they were cheating don't even have the quests to get them restarted.

Although being a selfish ******* (<--sorry if this pis5es off any mods, feel free to "edit" it), and not being personally affected, I really don't care that much

An exploit doesn't become an exploit when they said it's an exploit. An exploit becomes and exploit when you use commonsense to relize that your using the system not as intended. (I doubt anyone could realistically claim that gaining 300k prest a day is as intended.) It is not up to the dev's to instill the player base with such commonsense.
