It's not even all that hard to do. Took 2 phone calls and I checked my acount online and it was back in 6 hours.

On a side note, I wasn't the first to do it. Seems this company has a VERY bad rep. as they usually investigate these claims. However, once a Co. has a certain number of complaints reached, they put it on some list.
you didn't get it back from paypal

if you got it back from your credit card company then they instantly give you a credit while they do the investigation. if they don't cover intangible goods then will end up reversing the credit.

i've bought and sold tons of virtual items and know the policies pretty well. it's close to impossible to track virtual goods so most companies decide to not cover them at all.

if you were successful why don't you post which credit card company gave you a charge back?

should have known better than spending money with gold farmers.

As a side note my bank (Bank of America) has already said due to the amount of complaints on this company, I should have no problems and will have my money back by the end of today.

LOL do you guys really think other people will believe you when you claim a bank said this? it makes you look pretty sad.

Thought I would update, Bank of America has credited my account for over $1,000 from the charges and have said they should have the investigation wrapped up for me within 7 business days.

There was no mention of "intangible goods" thanks to nemo, I just stated none of the charges were mine, that was it.

The branch manager did mention that this company name has come up recently and has been flagged or something of the sort, she said its common for such a flag when a lot of people are being charged fraudently by a company or there are a lot of chargebacks, etc. Believe it or not, I really don't care, just updating on my situation. She was just talking as she was filling out my report, and commented on the charges by said company.

So yeah, thank you for that info nemo, just make sure to claim you have no idea where these charges came from.

the best you could do is file a chargeback with your credit card and hope that they cover virtual goods
Nemo is correct. When virtual goods are involved, you can still start a dispute through PayPal, but if and when you decide to escalate the dispute, PayPal will not side with you or attempt to recover your funds. They will not rule against a merchant where virtual goods are at issue.

Your bank/credit card company will reverse charges based on a fraud complaint. But if you are acknowledging that you made the charges, and the merchant can prove they delivered the virtual goods, you will find the charges re-applied.

Of course... fraud works both ways. Claiming you didn't make a charge when you did is also fraud. If you claim the charges were not made by you, and they have some reason to believe you did make the charges, you could face some negative consequences. Mostly likely punitive consequences related to your account, rather than actual fraud charges. But you never know. I've known a few people who got their hand slapped for making a habit of reversing charges this way.

Thats a big no-no saying that you didnt make the purchasesm they will check where the transaction has come from, your ip will be logged if thats the ip the transaction was purchased through and then you will have to explain your lies to the bank and you will have a black mark against your name, wouldnt be surprised if the bank called in the fraud squad and then had you charged

You spent $1,000 U.S. on this game already ?
Then you used an exploit and got caught?
Now you have admitted to credit card fraud as well?

You are not having a very good time of it and my advice would be to just vanish. Change your name, sell your house and kids and just get out before they come looking for you.
Definitely never post anything on this forum again.

Oh, your poll by the way, may have some spurious votes in it. I can't imagine anyone spending $5,000 U.S. on this game, let alone 5 people.
