I have to agree here... I was also not one directly affected, but am decidedly concerned at the way in which this whole issue was handled.
First, as you point out, there was no warning/rule clarification/etc., ANYTHING, on Evony's part, before the prestige was just reset. Punishment, without knowing that you were doing something wrong, just results in a lot of resentment, confusion and upset (welcome to this thread).
Further, I know several people affected by this that are *not* exploiting in the way described, but earning their prestige legitimately.... and then, they get to be labeled cheaters and exploiters? Insulted, pretty harshly by any gamers terms, because they've put a lot of hours in this game and actually have the troops/determination to now gain a lot of prestige quickly? I've seen several, that since the reset are over 100K and well on their way again. Gee, I dunno, these same sort of people, by any other definition than Evony's, would simply be smart, active players.
If it was truly Evony's intention to reprimand those that WERE, in fact, cheating in some way... I would think they would be able to review accounts - since there was only 150 of these suspects? - and individually decide what needed to happen, before such a blanket and blatantly BAD 'fix' was made.
And I have to wonder... What's next? Are we supposed to guess what it is that Evony finds exploitive? Will we have any warning? What if today's 'fair play' suddenly becomes unfavorable to the Evony devs.... would I (or you? think about it..) get a reset as well?
Evony, seriously. Wrong move. Give the prestige back, send apologies and work on your people skills. If you think someone's doing something wrong, you need to give them FAIR WARNING to stop doing it, before you enact such radical punishments.
