Thread: The REAL reason why customer support is so unresponsive.

    Default The REAL reason why customer support is so unresponsive.

    I'm an alliance leader on a top alliance and every time I wake up I recieve anywhere between 10-20 mail... and I swear to god 80-90% of it is the most unintelligible garbage I have I have ever heard.

    Its full of mail of people asking basic questions like where we are located... when I have cleared stated on my alliance info where we are located... or a member asking why he was removed and transferred when I have already sent a detailed mail to the person stating exactly the reasons why he was transferred.

    And that's just the easy part... now I have to get the part of my mail of people who type in ALL CAPS... and people spamming me with mail asking why they're being attacked... even when our alliances are hostile...

    After a few weeks or so, I've learned to be unresponsive to most my mail... yet some ppl still spam especially the guys that type in ALL CAPS... they must of been conditioned that ALL CAPS always gets a response or something... grrrr.

    Anyways I have concluded simply that the average evony player is simply FAIL... I mean seriously all you have to do is stare at world chat for only a few minutes to conclude this... lets just say in the earlier days of my alliance, I had to filter through world chat for HOURS in order to spot potential recruits and it was the most demanding experience I've ever had in trying to maintain my sanity.

    If I worked for customer support... I would probably ignore 99% of players in a futile attempt to avoid the nuthouse.

    Anyways this is my theory on why constumer support is bad... because out of every 1 or 2 intelligent and legit inputs, they are literally drowned by thousands of useless other ones... I've seen someone write in world chat that he sent in a bug report of not being able to build a second city... then I checked and noticed he was a civilian.

    sry for the rant... it gets annoying to wake up to this garbage every. single. f...ricken. day.

    I do have to admit, the players in-game can be very annoying because they're new and all. But, thats why I signed up to the Forums because most people on it are mature.

    If your ever getting stressed out by players just click on there name and click the ignore button. This should block communications from that member to you.

    there is no option to ignore mail... and I don't have clairvoyance to predict who's going to be the next person to send me annoying garbage mail.

    BTW the delete mail option needs to get fixed, I have 111 pages of mail atm... which means I'm receiving 111 mail per day on average... would be nice if I can delete 90% of the junk...

    I have worked Customer Service for several years, through E-mail, chat, and over the phone. Maybe I can help shed some light on some of this.

    Some (not all) people don't bother to read before they jump in and go go go. If people would learn to search, and do a bit of reading before they act, many problems would be avoided.

    Some people believe the best way to be heard and to get what they want, is to YELL AT TOP OF THEIR LUNGS, until you submit to them. In some cases they will double and triple team you, It helps to have developed a thicker skin.

    I truly empathize. I encourage more people to read before posting, There is more than enough information, published by Evony, to help a new player get started. But reading takes effort, that some people just do not want put forth.

    That doesn't work, believe me, I have tried . In all honesty Customer Service folks are paid to deal with just those type of issues. It is not glamorous or exciting, but it is what they are paid to do.

    That could very easily be a part of it. Another part is Civony/Evony customer base grew very fast as the game became popular. The current staff is not able to keep up with the demand for customer service. To Evony's credit, they are not doing what most companies have done, and rush out and hire a bunch of Customer Service folks who have no idea what they are doing. They are taking the time ensure they hire the best people to ensure your issues are addressed, quickly, correctly, and professionally.

    I agree.
    Not all people are stupid. Some are Ignorant, meaning they do not know. There is a lot of outdated, and just plain bad information in the forums and on other Evony based web sites.

    It is up to the moderators, as well as seasoned users to locate this information, and have it removed.

    I am going to have to agree 100%. The average Evony player appears to have the mental capacity of a golden retriever.

    Not sure if it is the combination of PvP and free or the ad campaign but I have met more people in this game that look like they came from the movie Idiocracy (great sleeper stupid comedy) than any other.

    That is an offense to Golden Retrievers. Maybe they're more like Cocker Spaniels.

    "Idiocracy" was a great movie too.

    I'm going to have to disagree on this one. I have owned several golden retrievers in my life, amongst other breeds, and find it much easier to have an intelligent conversation with them.

    unfortunately the ignore feature in game does not block mails from people who are on your ignore list

    I do agree, Adante. Alot of the gravitation to this game isn't from genre. It's from one word and that word being free. Between blatant covertisement like "how I buy cents" (like anyone with money doesn't know) to How do I make troops? It's false hope for the game makers when a server fills up in 8 hours, with prestige 0 cities, flag named flag, city name is city name. People who had no desire to play evony, never planned to even as much as fail at it. They fill space.

    The game is swamped with, I won't say noobs. It is swamped with kids that can't be marketed to, can't be intergrated becuse you don't have the time to mommy them through building and upgrading each building only to have them get ADD and quit anyway and at the same time, keep up with the powergrinders that will dominate you given the chance.

    Its the downside to 'free'. You bring in so many unrelated elements.
