Thread: Guide to Scouting and Reports

    Default Guide to Scouting and Reports

    Well, this is a guide on how to scout an enemy location and how the type of reports you will get with the updates in research.

    Ar first, as you can imagine, we all made our 10 scouts to get our quest out of the way and continue questing, but after a while, once I reached my 12,000 prestige points, I figured, isn't it time to test my army?

    I sent my 10 scouts to a Barbarian village (Black village) around 4.1 miles away

    Disclaimer: This is based on my own research and experience

    *** Informatics Level 1, my scouts reported that there is indeed an army present! (yay!)

    *** Informatics Level 2, my scouts reported the amount of resources in the town (yay! can't wait to get my hands on those!!!)

    *** Informatics Level 3, 10 scouts died

    *** Informatics Level 3, 169 scouts died (I thought... if I send more, then some might survive to tell me just what kind of army they have...)

    *** Informatics Level 4, 299 scouts reported amount of resources in the town, level of buildings, population and loyalty

    *** Informatics Level 5, ??? I have a hunch it will tell me the wall is level 3

    *** Informatics Level 6, ??? I suppose it will tell me how many Workers / Warriors there are

    *** Informatics Level 7, ??? Pikement, swordmen, archers?

    *** Informatics Level 8, ??? Cavalry, Heavy Cavalry?

    *** Informatics Level 9~10, ???

    I do imagine that the Informatics Level has to do also with the Enemy town level... so that If you are scouting a Level 10 Barbarian / Player, then you might need level 10 scouting just to get a glimpse of resources...

    Pictures coming soon (I have to finish my thesis...)

    Default A lot of relevant info missing

    Some details that could affect the outcome of your scouting. (all theory, of course):

    You should also include the level of the NPC village
    The Military science of the town producing the scouts

    Also should we consider the possibility that wall fortifications could kill scouts?

    With level 4 Informatics, scouting a level 4 desert with 50 scouts, I was told that there was a horde of warriors, lots of pikemen, and a pack of swordsmen.

    Scouting a village or city can also produce information about the buildings contained inside and their levels - as well as all resources contained.

    I found a swarm of warriors in a valley through scouting. When I attacked, there were 770 warriors. Maybe we can figure out what the cutoffs are for the different unit amounts.

    Scouts also die if they have more than you. If you kill all the scouts with your scouts, then you will see what they have. Or if you have more scouts.

    Since they ripped Age of the empire on some thing, I assumed they ripped Heroes of Might and Magic for some things too. In HOMAM

    Few = 1-5
    several = 6-10
    pack= 11-25
    Lots= 26-50
    horde = 51-500
    swarm= 501-1000
    legions = 1001 - 5000
    throng= 5001+

    I could be wrong but that is my guess.

    I don't know how high a lvl you need but heres my theory based on my scouting reports.

    1 lvl above enemy informactics - resources
    2 lvls above enemy informactics - reources - building levels
    3 lvls above enemy informactics - resources - building levels - MABYE fortification but it that might be with buildings so it's that or troops
    4 lvls above enemy informactics - resources - building levels - mabye fort or army - technology
    5+ lvls above enemy informactics - same as above

    This is for pvp scouting also.
