Thread: Guide to Scouting and Reports

    I get "Your troops have been uncovered by rival regular army. A fight was inevitable, and your troops won the fight. Scout successfully."

    no matter regardless of whether I scout a lvl 1 or lvl 9 valley. I have informics 3. Does it matter how many scouts I send?

    yea sounds like same message I get.. Berg, do you have a beacon tower? If not build one and see if it make a difference?

    Yea I had one at the time. I upgraded to informics 4 and now I get info like "Swordman Lots". The number of scouts sent don't seem to effect things, I get the same result with 1 scout vs 25 scouts + hero.

    I still get some blank reports, but those might be undefended tiles.

    I tried sending them to a lvl 10 square and I got back a blank report. So it must be that armies can be out of your scouting range.

    I'm on level 3 informics and built level 1 beacon tower, still no info on level 3 flat
    guess I need 1 more informics level

    I have level 4 informics and still no info in scouting report

    I did some more testing. At rank 4 I can scout lvl 1-3 valleys with troop estimates and you only need to send a single scout. I can't see lvl 4 and above, and I can't see player controlled valleys. It probably depends on the size of the army when it's a lvl 4 since others reported it.

    This chart seems fairly accurate, but I collected data where the pack, lots might need to be adjusted:

    pack is 20-50,
    lots is 50-100,
    horde is 100-250,
    throng is 250-500,
    swarm is 500-1000,
    zounds is 1000-2000
    bulk is ???-???
    legion is ???-???
    giga is ???-???

    Of my two recent valleys lots of warriors equaled 93, then lots of warriors and a pack of pikemen equaled 29 warriors, 10 pikemen so pack might be under 25, lots is 25-100.

    Edit: A recent attack had lots of warriors(78) and a pack of pikemen(26), so my new guess of the first few levels is:

    few under 10
    pack 10-30
    lots 31-100

    Default Level 9 grasslands

    My scout report showed a the following:

    warriors bulk
    pikemen zound
    archer zound

    I'll report back on what the zound/bulk range might be.

    --*UPDATED*--
    Bulk of warriors was 5323
    Zound of pikemen was 1804
    zound of archers was 1202.

    So your bulk is plus/minus 5000 units. I'll keep doing research and posting back.

    pack= 11-25
    Lots= 26-50
    horde = 51-500
    swarm= 501-1000
    legions = 1001 - 5000
    throng= 5001+

    I could be wrong but that is my guess.
    I attacked a "pack" of pikemen, and after the battle, 31 had died.

    So these numbers above may be a little off...but they're a good guide I think still...
