Thread: The Devs Ruined Scouts -OR- The Devs Fixed Scouts?

I think devs should put freakin dresses on all my troops and high heals so I can just let them prance around like faries and not ever attack another player again, cause attacking people is just so brutal don't ya know. This is now becoming a love thy neighbor fest rather than a war game. I am going to the pool. Got better things to do than not attack others in a war game. I could do this in Sims. LOL what the fart where the devs thinking, or are they thinking. ????????

Has anyone ever triggered a "scout war" yet?
I had one after the patch , player who sent the scouts had same level of beacon towers as me but two level below me in informatics. no scout war when i scouted hem back, but i don't fell like attacking him to find out if gates are open or not.

This is really dumb, the 'scout defense' (which I use) is a special tactic that diverts from the "whoever has more archers wins" normality. It puts fear in your opponents if they cannot see exactly how much stuff you have in your cities. Making them useless for defense against enemy scouting further downgrades the game from a strategy game to a "Whoever has played longer wins" fest, and that is highly un-fun.

    Not happy about this...

Perhaps the real problem is they're now trying to fix an original glitch? I didn't see anything in the upcoming patches, but be honest, having open gates forcing a scout fight is a bug or absolutely stupid coding. Scout defense should be based on research levels, building levels, and numbers of scouts present/sent. Honestly a gate being open should make it easier to scout as it allows an easy way in whereas closed gates mean someone would have to jump the wall both in and out.

Having scouts get attacked against idle accounts that never got above 3 informatics or a level 1 beacon just because the gates open is stupid. Similarly, having one scout easily scout a level 10 village with 5k scouts with the gates closed is wrong.

My hope is that the devs realized the open gates glitch and removed that but simply have yet to improve upon the intended scout combat determination. That or perhaps they had to remove it entirely first for some reason.

Also, just to remind everyone, that failed attack has nothing to do with the abatis and everything to do with the fact that scouts can no longer attack walls themselves.

Yes, I have been scouted and caught them. so it seems it is random chance, perhaps influenced by beacon/info that determines if your scout gets caught or not (providing gates are open).

It would be good if the status of the gates came back on the report though.

Way to go, Un-developers. Your lack of vision, zero support and shoddy imitation work has blossomed the live/beta/civo/evony into the dying weed that it is. Time to put more junk on sale, or just remove the clothes from the Ad girls altogether. If you're gonna run it like a cheap prostitute, you might as well advertise it the same way. Garbage.

This game is in a permanent state of ruin, joke after joke, the laurel and hardy music playing in the back ground is a sure fire give-away. Cheers stan and ollie.

I agree - the ability to scout anything you want once you reach lv 10 info and lv 9 beacon completely destroys the strategy of the game. 1 scout to scout a city with 100k scout has turned this game into a total joke.
