You know they reached the bottom of the barrel when they call you a criminal
not sure but i think that might be illegal to change a persons post and leave it only under their name...
Maybe the developers can tell me otherwise (or maybe the patch is defective sometimes), but my impression thus far is that with equal tech/beacon you cannot succeed in scouting with smaller number of scouts provided the gates are open.
There was 1 time when I wondered if I had gotten a faulty gate status couple of day ago. But it turned out that my opponent opened the gate at the last second. Opening gate at the last second is not that hard to do.
People sometimes keep gates closed even with very large number of scouts when they are away from their computer for a long time. And I can't say their reasoning is completely faulty (figure it out for yourself why I might think that).
FYI I think the developers made some pretty awful decisions (I personally dislike wall range bonus on troops very much), but it seems like people are overreacting to this one. Also the level of paranoia in this game (with real spies infiltrating other alliances and whatnot) is positively ridiculous - no doubt making everyone that much more on the edge of their nerves. Just my 2 cents.

Celegans, you can scout with just one scout on ANYONE - gates open or not. All you need is lv 10 info and lv 9 beacon. And at this point in the game on my server, who doesn't already have that?
I thoroughly enjoyed when an alliance mate asked for assistance and before sending a large number of troops to help, I'd quickly fire off a sum of scouts to ensure that if the attacker checked to gaurantee their own victory, there was a chance they couldn't see what they were getting themselves into. In some cases, scouts and the uncertainty of what lied behind the walls of the city they were attacking, was enough for an attacker to hit recall.
Sadly I don't see the above scenario ever happening again with the changes, as the players who know how to exercise the mentioned tactics are generally the ones with the important research projects completed already.

Yes, Celegans, Dawnseeker's explanation does not ring true with what is actually happening in the game. Hopefully, now you can understand why we are very mad about this new change.
Why don't you do a simple test? Take your top 2 players in your alliance with max technology and beacon tower. Boot 1 player out for 30 minutes or so to do a test to see if what you are saying is really happening? It's not that hard.
If your test supports your suspicion, tell developers that they screwed up. You people gave no indication that you have done a hard test - just a lot of paranoia.
