    Awakening

    You are a wonderful person
    To do this for me
    My dear friend

    Smiling, I accept the compliment,
    foolishly believing the lie.

    I give you my shoulder
    To weep upon,
To rest on when you grow tired,
    To hold for assurance
    When you’ve lost your way

You call and ask for help
    Unquestioning I deliver
    All you need,
    All you want,
    All you ask for,
    I do not see
    You are still not satisfied

    I never complained
    It is what friends do

But then I turned to you
    When I needed a shoulder
    To weep upon,
To rest upon because I was tired,
    To hold for assurance
Because I had lost my way

    You were gone
    Nowhere to be found
I called but I heard nothing
    I begged,
    but my cries
    Fell on deaf ears

It is too much of a burden
    I am too busy
I would, but I have to think about…
    Myself.

    I battle on, without help
In time I see a distant light,
there at the end of the tunnel
    I crawl out
    Alone

    You call
    I have a problem
    can you help?

    Foolishly I listen
    I give you
    All you need,
    All you want,
    All you ask for…

    But you do not see
    I am not entirely here
I will come when you cry
    But my heart is closed
    You call me your friend
    But you are not

    One day you will call
    And I won’t be there
    I will be too busy
    I will be unburdened
I will be my own friend.
    I have had an awakening.

I am doing a series of novels where the main characters are related in some manner or another.

In one novel the main character is a gambler and after exchanging a debt for a wife finds himself wrongly accused of the rape and murder several women.

Another is about a young woman who finds herself in the middle of the trade of national secrets. She losses her entire family in one accident. (this is where I get teary LOL) Which later turns out to be deliberate, of course.

My setting is the early 19th centruy, where crime is concerned most of the evidence is usually heresay and circumstantial.

Not all my criminals are killed or arrested, one found himself the victim of an exploding flint pistol. They were nasty guns which never really worked too well. He lost half his face and one hand. Not a great outcome for a hardened rake.

I am hoping to have my novel 'Devil's Hand' finshed soon.

So yes, I am a writer. I have written a few novels, poems, short stories, etc. and I love it. I hope to get published someday, but I am very shy about showing my writing. The only way I can make sense of the world is by writing about it. If I get the nerve I will post something
My books have characters in them, all based on either my friends or myself.

    EDIT: Oh..my..God..
I went to locate my book.. and I found out the system restore deleted it.
So I thought how lucky I was that I sent it to my other email....
Stupid.. Whilst cleaning out my inbox... I deleted it. I am going to go chec my other one.

    EDIT2: I found it. Heres a sample.

Chapter One: The Apocalypse; The High Breed.

The year is 2025. My name is Zannon. I am known as Zane. I don't
know why. I am one of the few survivors of the human race. I am a
part of the so-called "High-Breed." The High-Breed are people that were captured by the Russians. We were experimented on. We were put through tests, taught to endure torture, and to kill to survive. We were completely genetically restructured. But we still had the ability to think and reason. And that is how we escaped our prison. We are now the Resistance. The Russians have destroyed all who defied them, which is basically everyone except themselves. They created killing machines. To them, soldiers are obsolete, worthless, a waste of air.

If you want the rest, PM me telling me to do so..
If I get enough people, I'll post it, because it is a lot.. (I think)

The young woman Beth later marries Marcus, a Dragoon and spy. He is the half brother of the cousin of Thane, the gambler. Thane has also worked as an agent because of his links in the gambling hells where secrets are often sold.

A lot of the characters are cousins.

In another story a rake, Nicholas finds himself in the wrong bed, that of an a chaste young woman, after falling there drunk. Because of the dictates of polite society he is honour bound to marry her. The young woman Adele is a cousin of Thane. their story contains kidnapping blackmail and the discover that relatives are not always as trustworthy as one might think.

In another the main character Devlin is a Privateer and has to fight of the usual hoards of pirates. He is Adele's half brother. The lady he mets up with has run away. She has just hacked up her step brother's family jewels. (he was trying to rape her.) of course the step brother wants revenge.

In one novel the criminal is attacked by a huge rouge wolf, the result is, well you can imagine.

I am of the opinion all writers use at least some charateristics of themselves or of people they know in their writing. The old addage you write what you know is true enough here.

I have found that writing is a great means to ridding myself of frustraion. If someone, excuse the expression, ****es me off, then I make a character which reselbes them then I do something nasty to them. It is a great way to relieve frustraion. I can always hit the delete button later if I feel the need.

Hehe. Mine are usually just based off them personality wise, and in the book I'm currently writing, emotional wise.

I used to write science fantasy for free, now I write business and get paid for it. But the spaceships still go round and round and round and round my head...
