Thread: City taking and prestige...

    Default City taking and prestige...

Wondering why it is when you take a moderately developed city that there is no prestige gain at all for this?

You basically lose out on a whole cities worth of prestige gain. Some might think it's not important but some also see no point in honor

One mans trash is anothers treasure...so why no prestige bump for taking the city? Or even a prestige hit (loss) for losing one?

Well this seems like a suggestion to me. I kind of agree with you that taking over cities is worthy of gain, except if the stronger ones sweep the tiny tiny ones then the stronger ones will get unimaginable prestige from taking out weaklings/newbies and there'll be an even larger gap between rich and poor/weak and strong.

What if, only taking out a city bigger than yours or about your size earns you prestige? Anything smaller makes you lose prestige. So picking on little ones won't help.

well, normally, when i take someones city, i just abandon it, for the factor that someone spent so much time building it, and i just don't even respect them enough to keep it... its war, what can i say.

Something definitely needs to be done about this. There is no incentive to build your own cities after your second. Just find someone else who just built their second city, and conquer their first one.

Do you think that person is going to want to keep playing then? He'll basically have to start from scratch at his second city, and without all the quest rewards to speed him along.

i think that the beginner protection takes care of this really, any new player has plenty of time to build their cities up and build their researches/defences.

i'm not saying a new player is likely to be stronger than an old player (unless they play more and play more efficiently) but with the protection of nearby alliance members they should do fine

Considering that prestige means nothing except epeen factor, so?

You should not get any prestige for taking a city. Your HERO gains exp. why should you be rewarded twice?

Good call. Getting some exp for your hero is pretty nice.

Ok, then why does your Hero Castellan get exp WHILE you get prestige for building and growing a city?

Isn't that being rewarded twice also???
