The first time I heard of "emo" I thought the guy was talking about "emu".

    Seriously.

All that emo seems to be to me, is just a way to be goth without conforming with goths.

It will probably end up there, Zenrax. I'll let them have it here for a day or two though. I try not to stomp on them too much in any single day.

Emo to me is the use of emotion to paint a picture of the similar feelings that both the artist and listener can converge and understand through situations of their life. I'm a pretty emotional person so I like it when an artist can bring me to a place that I can truely feel its core.

A band that does this the most to me (other then Tool) and who I'd love to see in concert is Underoath.

Wow, there's some fans of Green Day eh? Very nice. The Green Day concert was my 15 seconds of fame lol. My Driver's Ed teacher mentioned he saw my friend and I crowd surfing on MTV lol.
Yeah 'Emo' is simply emotional punk, which has nothing to do with wrist slitting (either up or down the street), and in the scene to which I belong that is the rave scene, emo's, goths, HARD ass metal heads, geeks, nerds, jocks, and even/unfortunately lads are all apart of it. But we came for the love of the music.

My gf loves metal/punk/ and death and whatnot and been to a fair few concerts. But that screaming music doesn't bloat my goat. Clearly she also loves the hardstyles/trance/dance music, otherwise I'd have never met her.

    I'm neither goth/emo/or even a punk. Well alright I suppose I am a punk...but I fit into both scenes.

NEVER say emo is related to punk in any way!!! Punk and emo are not the same! If you show me a song that is punk and emo, I will give you reputation. In the meantime, NEVER, ever, ever, say emo is related to punk, NEVER!!

lol, this thread was made for MSI, and she has yet to post in it. I just find that funny. But she is a good mod.

Well, I'm tired of these forums. Very little humor in them anymore. Adios all.

I never said they were the same, just that they all come together to rave to the same music. Hence, we all get along. Oh but I did say emo is emotional punk.

    Because it is.

    Chill brah.

    This is more punk but...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb8VPYMgHlg

    Irrelevant that it's hardstyle.
