    Maybe this should go somewhere but I'm curious about what people think more than proposing this.

    The devs claim that they want a game system where people are constantly mixing it up throwing their armies against each other in big fat murder battles. But the system as it stands now gives absolutely no incentive to do that, wall defenses are super powerful, and if you do defeat your enemy you've murdered him and he's gone forever.

    What I propose is a change to the valley system, currently valleys are basically worthless. A lvl 10 lake provides 35% bonus to production, the maximum realistic production you can expect to achieve is from taking a level 10 barbarian town, and they produce about 205k base, so that's 71,700 food production bonus, enough to feed about 8k archers. Hardly worth getting into a life or death battle over, especially since you could only actually station 4k archers there to defend it and then you'd eat your entire bonus up.

    So I proposed a bell-shaped curve to valley distribution, and exponential increase in valley production (or maybe just for lakes, whatever seems more appropriate).

    An easy one would be 2^(valley_lvl)% bonus. Then level 5 lakes would be the median (around 20% of the total lakes) with a drop off to about .1% of the total lakes being level 10.

    Thus level 10 lakes would be very rare and valuable commodities worth fighting over. A 1000% production bonus would yield 2million food extra per hour to a level 10 npc, supporting a large amount of troops (or 1million equivalent to troops stationed in the valley itself), and there would be a very small number of these that people would love to have.

    I could see people fighting to gain control of flats/towns near the level 10 lakes, as well as the lakes themselves, or alliances vying for control of a lake rich area to boost their overall food production to support a large number of troops. Thus encouraging more pvp, not having to deal only with the super overpowered wall defenses and making life a little more interesting for all.

    Thoughts? Complaints? It wouldn't even be a difficult change to implement which is what I look for in game suggestions I make, because clearly evony is not the place for big drastic sweeping code changes.

    A couple things:

    1) Get rid of the valley takeover ability by a scout.

    2) Make it so upkeep isn't so crazy when an army is reinforcing a valley.
