I would chase them down with a bat, why? Because apparently I didn't have any silly string to chase them down with, only a bat.
Which brings up a question, why would I be walking down the street with a bat? And who would be stupid enough to jump out at someone that is walking down the street with a bat?
Also, is it an aluminum bat or a wood bat? what size or weight is the bat? Too many loopholes.

lol. my real react would to be just to stand the, go WTF pick the silly string off me. Wonder some more WTF. then keep going on my way. Thats if I didn't know the people that did it to me anyways.

I am unable to answer this question. You have completely ignored the most likely reaction. If someone randomly sprayed me down with silly string, I would grab them, throw them to the ground, subdue them with ninja-tickles, then shrink wrap them to an object with wheels, wheel it into some public place, tape a sign to them that said, "I told my wife she looked fat in that" and leave them to their fate.
Not that I've ever actually done anything like that.......*shifty eyes*
