Thread: IMPOSSIBLE QUESTION!! Mwahaaha

  1. #61

    Default is it too late?

    4788.516746411483 hrs

  2. #62

    Default Long and multipart

    Gonna start setting up equation, then solve later.

    Q. The moon is 384 000km away from the Earth. A rocket car that can travel at a speed of 100km/h is traveling there.

    A.
    384,000 km / (100 km/h) = 384 hr

    Q.
    The car has a fuel tank of 450 L which is the amount the car starts off with, and uses 15L of fuel per hour when moving but can refill it for 17 L per hour when the amount of fuel has dropped to zero.

    A. Setting up equations for fuel tank:
    Let y = amount of fuel in tank
    Let t = hours
    y = 450 - 15t when y > 0
    y = 450 +2t when y < 0

    Q.
    The car's maxinum durability is 2586 and loses 13 durability per hour but can fix it up to maxinum durability within 3.1 hours but only if it does it for exactly 3.1 hours meaning if it stopps during the 3.1 hour period, the car's durability isn't increased. The car starts off at maxinum durability as well.

    A. Setting up equations for durability:

    Hp = 2586 -13x when hp > 1
    Hp !< 0

    Q.
    When the car's durability and fuel have both dropped to zero the fuel is refilled first and the durability next. But when durability drops while refueling the car- the car continues to refuel instead. Also, if a car has lost fuel or durability, it stops at that moment.

    During the trip, 300 000 km is within the Earth gravitational field and the car gains a -24% speed boost, 15% fuel refill boost and a -33 percent car fixing time. For the other 30 000 km, the car gains a 10% speed boost, -45% fuel refill boost and a -20% car fixing time. For the rest 54 000km, the car gains a -5% speed boost, 7% fuel refill boost and -12% car fixing time.

    A. Setting up time variables
    total x = 384 000 km

    When x< 300,000,
    v = (100 - 24) = 76 km/h

    y = 450 - 15t when y > 0
    y = 450 + [-15 + (19.55) t ] when y < 0

    Hp = 2586 -13x when hp > 1
    Hp !< 0
    (to do, need equation relating everything to time)

    How long will it take for the rocket car to reach the moon?

    But what if I'm in Server 4? Do I still get the prize? And shouldn't it be title improbable question?

    Here's my first answer. If its not correct then I have one more approach to try.

    8616.823885905293hrs= 359days, 49minutes, 25.9892590548seconds.

    how do u send people resources?

    how about this...

    199days 12hours 31minutes 0.280813391224seconds
    as long as you always fix it after refuling is complete, it never stops moving, so its just a pure distance calculation:
    300,000km at 76km/hr
    + 30,000km at 110km/hr
    + 54,000km at 95km/hr

    I don't know if glorias seen this thread since she last posted, what with people being really negative and awkward than actually working it out, so no, no resources. Not that i'm bothered, I just want to know the answer ^_^
