I like the mech battlion as a reward, and just because you win it doesnt mean you have to use it right away. You can save it until you can afford to maintain them which is cool.
I do have a few complains though and i know im most likely going to get flamed for my opinions but wtf i really dont care...
mostly on battle mechanics:
We dont have the ability to march troops from one location to the next and the next (unless its a city you own). It's only 1 way and back to the originating city. Um who ever thought of that is a few fries short of a happy meal.
- In the second punic war hannibal marched his troops from north africa all they way to Rome winning every battle and slaughering everyone along the way, dispite being seriously outnumbered in some occasions. (even though he lost the war due to his inability to seige ironically) Did he have to return his troops to Carthage after every single battle? I think not...
Which brings me to, seiging. We only have the ability to plunder a location and run away, but we cant stay on that town until the morale drops completely from lack of food and supplies? Run back home? We arent always going to want to play like vikings going out on raids and plundering. there should maybe be 2 forms of attack - 1 for raids and 1 for seige. please let us siege.
We can only send reinforcing troops to allies to defend, we cant launch attacks from there... Whats the point of having allies if all you can do is spend your time reinforcing everyones cities? Many times opponents in war are several hous away from each other. If someone has a beachhead city in enemy territory you should be able to launch coordinated attacks from there.
Our Alliances can have allies (friendlies - the guys in blue) but all this means is that we cant attack them. We cant reinforce them with troops or supplies and we cant launch from their cities... So thier effectiveness is minimal. What's the point? more people soaking up extra valleys that i can't take from. This may not seem important to those on new servers where valley are abundant, but when youre on server 1 and everyone is allied to one another, you cant ever expand to fill your cities with establish valleys because there ARENT any available because everyone is allied to one another. We need a reason to have friends menaing we should be able to interact. Maybe have allow users to setup Alliance's chat channels so we could at least talk to them and coordinate better between different guilds.
As much as i use the darwin/rainbow tactic to my own advantage, its a lame theory. Rainbowing 1 of every unit with a batch of archers should not have any better advantage then using a solid blends of troops.
Archers and ATs should not own all. Each unit should have their own unique attack and defense like rock paper scissors. Even though the game implies its set up that way it, doesnt seem to work that way. Everyone sends 70k-90k archers, cause thats what you need to win.
Food consumption is out of control for anything more than archers.
You never know whos online at any given time for anyone. I think alliances should know which of their fellow teams mates are really online. I also think the friend option should be tweeked so you know when your friends are on.
I could go on but those are my biggest gripes... flame away my brothers.
