It has come to my attention that the naming of the Darwin Maneuver was badly executed. In what had started as no more than a simple joke, I called it the Darwin Tactic, and in the very same post assigning it a proper name of the "Anti-Archer Spammer Tactic." Somehow or another, this turned into the current Darwin Maneuver.
Obviously, this causes all kinds of misconceptions and bad communication, as we have three names in the pool and people use them randomly, at times even inventing their own hybrids of the name. Recently terms like "Darwin's Gambit," or "Darwin's Strategy," and the most atrocious of all, the "Darwin Maneouverour" have popped up everywhere.
That is why I have decided to simplify it all and make a public announcement that this will be the final transformation of the name, and this is what it will be forever from now on. It will be renamed to: "pepperpot."
The act of using this tactic will be "pepperpotting.
Those who use this tactic will be called "pepperpotters."
And etc.
The name choice is based on the light infantry tactic of Fire and Movement, better known as pepperpotting. Surprisingly, the two tactics fit very well with each other, and are very similar. For more information on pepperpotting, look here:
