And yep I imagine he is... Australia has a lot of extremely venemous snakes/spiders wandering around. :s

Though I thought they were called funnel webs? o.o They're not a singular species though... theirs more than one type of funnel/tunnel web. At least that's how I understood it but maybe i'm wrong. :s

No....I'd say the Black Widow is the most deadly spider in the world. I'm pretty sure the bite can cause you to die within an hour if you don't get it treated immediately.

(Don't click the links unless you like spiders :s)

It depends where you are actually. The Black Widow is one of the more venemous north american spiders but it's also believed that the brown recluse spider has actually killed more people than the black widow. However deadly they both may or may not be, however, the most venemous spiders generally seem to be found in other, warmer locations like australia. As to which one is actually the most venemous I'm not entirely certain. I know the Funnelweb species (especially the Sydney Funnelweb) are definitely near the top of that list.

It also depends on whether or not you mean deadly towards humans...

I have heard (though I don't know for certain) that the Brazillian Wandering Spider is the most venemous in the world.

the daddy/ grandaddy longlegs is the most venomous but it's mouth is too small to harm human's.

THE most venomous "spider" in the world isn't a spider at all, but a daddy-long-legs. Of course, their fangs are unable to penetrate human skin, so they don't usually get put on the list.

As for the spiders in Australia, I do remember watching a "Top Ten Deadliest..." show once that listed 7 of the deadliest spiders in the world are there...with like 3 right around Sydney almost exclusively. Eep! Brown recluses don't usually cause death...they cause necrosis of the skin. I got bit by one a couple weeks ago and did some home surgery to fix it all up. (Don't ask.)

Spiders in general freak me out though.....I think they should all be eradicated via hairspray and a lighter!

Edited to say that Devis beat me on the Daddy Longlegs thing!
