Thread: Unanounced Change..

    Default Unanounced Change..

It took two days to get this answer from the Devs, but they have finally admitted it..

The medal drop rate on new servers is set to a lower rate to prevent players from quickly jumping through the ranks to the max. We want to keep the competition on these servers as fair as possible and make each Title and Rank gain a meaningful accomplishment. Medals do drop, but not as often.

" This game was set too easy, so that players who refuse to pay us any money are actually able to have fun after the Protection ends. We have decided to fix that, by making sure that people who do not buy Coins and use them to buy Medal Boxes can not advance fast enough to protect themselves from people who do."

This will be a running tab on server 27...

Counter stopped at 250K Prestige : Reason, account still stuck at knight, after 25,560 attacks on valleys. Account abandoned.

"TinyWarz" is a great name. +1 to you for that.

    RETIRED FROM EVONY
In short, the carebears won the battle for Civony. Behold their chubby rainbow bellies and tremble, for they lost every single battle, but sure as heck won the war.

    nice slogan change

Its clear that the owners of this game want to make as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time. Might as well just force customers to pay to play?

I made a thread about a similar subject just from a hunch, but now I am sure I am right.

Wheel spins are also similarly weighted - in the first day/week/month of a new server you are MUCH more likely to get good stuff on the wheel than towards endgame.

Maybe I'll be corrected, but here are what appears to be more unannounced changes.

    1. NPC resource regeneration rate may have changed. [edit: this could be a one-day bug or my book-keeping mistake... happened twice in a row, then it seems ok now - a bit odd...]

    2. It now takes much longer to capture player city due to a much slower rate of loyalty drop after 15. [edit: our current theory not involving an unannounced patch is that severe server lag might be causing loyalty to drop extremely slowly]

I've said elsewhere drastic changes are not fun for most players. Unannounced sneaky drastic changes are even less fun.

I would mind less, if Evony didn't say over and over that they were not manipulating medal drop rates to get people to buy medal boxes.

But anyway, this is just another example of sticking it to the newbie, and it is getting old fast.

There are two kinds of playstyles. Those who log in once or twice or three times a day to launch an attack or two, and those who spend a great deal of more time playing.

The second group can launch five attacks from each of their cities ten or twenty times a day. They will farm NPCs to get through the upper ranks.

The other play style will be lucky to get their third or fourth city before someone with nine casually barbs them.

Anything you do to cripple the active players has a much larger impact on the casual players. Active players will still farm a few hours every day. People who can not play at work have no hope of standing up to those who can, and every month things get harder and harder for people who do not have that kind of time.

I was thinking that also... it was taking 3-4 calv waves after level 15 to drop 1 loyalty the other night. It's been a while since i capped a player city, but i could have sworn it was faster then that last time.
