Thread: Evony is forcing us to buy medals

What's the difference between someone spending $100 to get to the end in 3 weeks compared to someone very rarely getting a lucky spin(s) to get there? I'm baffled by this line of argument.

There is a shortcut to endgame, and you either have a problem with that or you don't. Are you saying you have a problem with the fact that some people in life are luckier than others? Take that up with the forces that rule the universe.

EDIT: I seem to be "luckier" at starting new thread pages than other people.

exactly, and at the end of the day having 10 cities doesn't make you a great player, knowing how to build those cities and make an army does. Fast forward to prinz if you want but that just means that you have more cities for people like me to barb.

I find that an odd statement too.

I mean people who spend money have a 100% chance to circumvent the time it takes to build up in cities. That throws the game out of whack way more then luck on the wheel.

At the same time the wheel is a chance given to every single player in the game. So its an equal chance at the chance of getting lucky. It actually gives you a possible chance to keep up with the paying player.

Cashers contribute to the game. They keep it running. Thus cashers should have some sort of advantage. A reward, or incentive to continue the behavior.

Given that Evony has never really provided any incentive before, I will not begrudge the cashers this one, particularly when they have to spend hundreds of dollars to get it.

People getting a huge advantage, skipping months of game play, and having far greater troop production because they got a really nice random drop is however another story.

At least for a forced PvP environment.

Cashers getting advantages is part of playing a free to play PvP game. You put up with it or you buy a subscription to something else.

Random people getting huge advantages that include skipping months of tedious effort is another story. Thats called really bad game balance.

I have to admit - I love the use of the term "Cashers" to describe people who buy coins - it's perfect.

I seriously believe that all they care about is the money. They don't about ruining the game if they happen to earn more money while doing so. The medal drop went down drastically for rose and cross medals. Most people who can't find any simply buy them (including me). Evony- Free forever! A bit ironic don't you think?

Nothing on the wheel circumvents months of tedious play. If it takes you months to get to 10 cities, then something YOU are doing is seriously wrong.

Let's use real time intervals please.

Well, yes of course, it's the way of a business. I don't know yet quite how far down they've pushed medal rates so I can't comment on whether it was a good or bad move yet.

As for wheel spins, most people will not win a medal box. And most people who do win it are "Cashers" who bought a bunch of amulets to spin. So, again, no problem.

The fact is you contribute to a game with more than just money. Lets say everyone who didn't pay any money for the game quit, and only people who paid were left. How much fun do you think the game would be at that point? Vast empty fields, alliances of 2 or 3 people competing across giant empty states. Fun game that would be. So yes, people who pay help, but so do people who play.

I play on server 3 i do about 10 to 20 attacks a day one day i get 1 or 2 medals the next day 8 or 10 and it is all sorts of lvls up to 8 and Npc's up to 3 and it is also all sorts of medals mostly lion and rose occasionally something different , In my opinion it is kind of random but i could be the fool. Either way I think you just have to have patience and work at it.
