Default .exe file for ievony is player bias to windows

Just fyi... ievony is NOT available to all players and thus the rewards system is bias to windows users over MacOS users. I joined to play a browser game free of operating system bias and they go and create a reward system unavailable to me (G5 system). I would like to see this rectified in some way as my enemies and friends alike get coins out of this windows only application.

There are more windows users than mac users.

If you really wish to download a potentially harmful file as a Mac user, Apple has a freeware program called Boot Camp that lets you run windows on a macintosh. You can download windows 7 for free from microsoft.

Problem solved, except for the problem of going out of your way to give out your personal information.

Bootcamp is for intel macs only... The point is that the evony game is independant of operating system but ievony is not. There is no way for me to participate in this program from my home pc. That is not a fair and balanced program for players. The point of browser based games is to use flash and java, etc and not depend on downloading any executable files. Why was ievony written in an archaic ms-dos formate rather than java?

All apple machines went to Intel in... what, 2005? TBQH I've played this game on a pre-2005 computer and it's not a great experience. That said why does it matter *where* you use iEvony from? It's only function is to hook into you webmail/IM programs, take your contact lists and spam them, rewarding you with 1/10th of a cent for each one. You can do that anywhere.

Why it wasn't written in java is the wrong question, it didn't have to be a separate program at all, there are already tons of sites that do the exact same thing through their own web-servers. I'm guessing this was the cheapest easiest fastest solution, oh and it gets around the fact that many webmails have apparently banned mail coming from this company. They use a skype API of some kind to manage the program, hook into your computers SMTP and use your internet to send out the emails. Icky.

I'm guessing they (and I) don't know how to do the same on a mac, as it is much less of a free for all let programs do whatever you want on macOS.

So again, if you insist on giving access to your email accounts and 3rd party program access to some computer you have access to for paltry rewards you can do that anywhere, not being able to do it at home is not a hamstring of any kind.

Yes Pokey, you are correct... and my 2.1 Ghz G5 does great with almost anything except the newest and intel chipset required graphics... Certainly does excellent with this game. I bought Mac's in the past because they were not outdated in 2 years and of course its about time I jumped up to date but the fact is that gaming has been so diluted of quality PvP since Shadowbane ended. Evony is a distraction at best while waiting for a real "play to crush" game.

I've heard warhammer has a good pvp system from my old WoW mates who migrated over there, but I dont really have money or time to play any real mmos of late. Sad. But if you do you might give them a lookup.

I did the Warhammer beta on my kids PC... was very WoW like wqith instances etc and not very cruel... is was watered down for the casual player as well. They are starting to get the origional promised race/class stuff up but still along way from making it...

    Hello Lady Claire,

Yes, when we were developing iEvony™ and during the closed beta, it was discussed about making this available for Mac users however Evony did not choose to implement this ability.

I do note though you are able to still participate in iEvony™ through the manual process of taking one of your 10 invitation codes and sending that via email. I myself use that process as I send a step by step guide on how to activate and use the code to the invited person.

Lol, thats what you get for buying a Mac. Sorry, but its the hard truth. Mac users will always have a hard time finding games to support them. It may sound unfair but you will be learning this lesson the hard way.

How many million times do windozable chimps have to spew this garbage... every single high quality title comes out for Mac so we miss nothing except mb Vista, big brother watching, viruses, and all kinds of holes and bugs. Oh and all the crappy worthless titles. Lol... like and .exe DOS based program is something I need to run. I just point out that building something for windoze is like building something for GM... MS is backpedaling faster than Sarah Palin going over Niagara... Like XP is moving forward? The only lament again is the death of Shadowbane and the rise of casual PvP forced balance between players and toons... Besides you can run windoze on Macs if you choose to degrade yourself for the sake of some lackluster title. Go back to the 90s dude.
