edit: if it makes you feel better Igorus or something gave me a warning for saying dangit. so someone is active.
Ha, I got infracted for saying "bish" in a thread that was on page 26 of the general discussions, but I got it retracted or whatever they call it. Now I only have infractions left for "Spreading False information about the staff"

If MsArianna were a mod, I'd just hit on Lady Arianna. Same thing right?

Katiara was on recently...but I noticed while I was a mod that the majority of the OT mods had disappeared leaving me and just foxybunny to pretty much clear things up. Now it appears to just be foxybunny, bless her, doing her best.

As for the other mods, it does bother me that they seem to be brand new members that aren't well known on the forums. I think if people know you and know how approachable you can be it is more effective to the community.

I hope they've shown the new mods how to use all the tools as well because if you've never moderated before its very confusing, took me ages to figure out how to approve posts. I hope the communication is a lot better as well, I personally don't think Skype is effective at all.

And my final point...I wonder how many of them are actually 18+
I know one of the mods is under 18, lovely person, but if you set up rules and boundaries why break them?

Twice people have mentioned an underage mod. I PM'd asking who - but I was never responded to.

The rules when applying (originally) clearly stated you had to be over 18.

I have no issue with people being new (or only posting as a mod and enforcing rules) as long as they do it properly.

It'll be interesting to see how it turns out. =)

I don't know...there are actually two schools of thought regarding moderator involvement in the process. (which it sounds like Zenrax was kinda alluding to)

In help and questions I can see how a thorough knowledge of the information would be required, but in general discussion and OTcrowd? I can see it going both ways...

If the person is well aware of what has gone on before, they could use their judgment concerning whether a post really is breaking the rules...on the other hand I can see this person giving leeway to those same people because they know them....It really depends on the moderator in question and if they can keep their perspective.

I don't see what post counts really have to do with how good a moderator is. Remember they might be the type of moderator who likes to stay in the background. The activity of the forums they are moderating would also be in question. If they are doing their jobs well, everyone knows the rules then they rarely have to step in and spank someone. So THAT might be a point of contention to discuss, but really if that is a problem, it sounds like it would be more appropriate for a PM to their boss.

I have no problems with a guideline being put in place making 18 the minimum age to moderate. There are exceptions to this and that is why I think it should be a guideline and not a rule. If someone 16 or 17 comes along and has no issues treating everyone with respect and consistently applying the forums rules then there is no problem...
