What is there to be right about? And how do you know you are in the first place?

I was waiting for you to quote my last post, but I assume you don't think it feeds your agenda.

You remind me of a member named tomthecool from my days at the LineRider forums. He felt slighted that we unstickied one of his 'soapbox' threads, and wrote a huge rant about what was wrong with the community. It boiled down to "the staff doesn't know what they are doing, and I do cause I have a huge IQ and am going to attend Cambridge"

We decided to let it go, since we were trying to let everyone have their voice. I was busy on side projects that were to benefit the community there to care much anyway. We were wrong. He started a forum called rhubarbsoup to bash the moderating team at our forums, and to serve as a portal to spam it up. He wanted to teach us how to do our jobs, cause he knew so much better than us what needed to be done.

We did not infract him, ban him or anything. Not because we were scared of him or his mouth, but because we believed in the principles of fair play and relative democracy. We didn't close his threads until they turned into real spam-fests. This is tame compared to those arguments. And he never relented. We lost several upstanding members, and the community wiki was vandalized by one of his acolytes.

The entire time he insisted he was doing it for the good of the community, that people's eyes needed to be opened, and he was the one who was to open them due to his large IQ and forum presence. He did nothing to help the community in the process, only fomented dischord and dissent. I quit soon thereafter, my projects went to rot, and I've never seen that forum in the same light. And now it's down, it was dstroyed by vandals. Probably unrelated, but who knows really.

Make your own conclusions, you are intelligent enough.
