    So ive been attacking npc cities and player cities for some time now.

    The info I can find anywhere says that ballistae outrange archers toweres period. At any level.

    I can say that I have seen this dozens of times. Send ballistae and transports and you bust their towers down.


    Today i sent 140 ballistae and 200 transports to a guy with rank 4 archery and 1400 towers. I lost everything and only killed 24 towers.

    My leader is like lvl 35 with 60 politic 78 attack and 76 int and I know the other guy doesnt have better, nor did one show up.

    Can someone please tell me - What the flying hell happened?

    You are looking at old information. Awhile back the Devs altered defense so that every level of wall increases the defenders range. SOmeone with walls 7 and up can easily outrange Ballistae with ATs now.

    Well along those lines , is there a place wher the dang rules are clearly posted or do we have to just trial and error the whole time?

    Look up in the top section and find the threads that say Patch Notes. However, much like the unanounced change to the way Medals drop recently, not everything is explained there.

    So ... can you explain how they now drop?

    I have been scratching my head about the whole range advantage in this game.

    I read that the beacon tower is suppose to alert your troops (if doors are open) so that they can go out and meet the incoming force. Why on earth are calvalry not racing out to smash these balista's?

    Furthermore shouldn't range have a higher chance of fail at longer ranges? Or just lowered attack at that fact. Like 10% less attack for every 100 range out. As I am learning this game I am finding that you just send ranged troops at NPCs. Seems to lower the value of other troops. Might as well just remove everything but balistaes, archers, and workers.

    Forget reality.

    In this game you areequally likely to hit at any range.

    Your city troops will only fight if you open the city gates (open Rally Point, click the open gate box).

    Beacon only tells you that an enemy is coming (and when and how many if your beacon is high enough). Umm, beacon also helps you scout enemy.
