no the world wide web. A computer was really a black screen with green letters or numbers. The world wide web makes computers what they are today with some help from the internet.
What about the Internal Combustion Engine?
Modern Aircraft?
Silicon? (Without which there would be no computer)
The question is what is most significant, not what is most important, or the best. It's significant because it largely changes the way we look at things. Like spacecraft, and satellites.
Contact lenses.
Wow, my posts have to be approved??? O.O
Contact lenses.
Well, I think that contact lenses are more convenient than glasses. It's comfortable... glasses are annoying since you need to wipe the lenses every few hours and gosh, it has glares!! Especially when in movie theaters, you just see these dots of lights on the corners of your vision...soooo annoying.
So contact lenses are awesome. xD
+ with modern contacts your not covering the whole of your eye with a pice of glass. did you know that was the origanl contact lens. not the nice (flexabul if you have soft) small thing you slip on to your eye with little lid manipulation but a BIG pice of glass that you had to lift both lids to wrangel on and then soffacated your eye because air couldnt pass thru it.
modern contacts are SO much better. and you get to uses your prifreal vision unlike with glasses.
Modern rocketry and Non-natural Nuclear reactors, both of which spawned many other things...
Rocketry had the V2, which most, almost all, German scientists wanted to make a SAM out of, rather than the Ballistic Missile, but Hitler changed that (it was said you wanted the High Command to fund it, but not know about it, because they ruined every invention the touched...), Rockets lead to the Space Race, all of the Artificial satellites we have
The reactors have lead to both disasters- real- Chernobyl, and not- Three-Mile Island, and nuclear submarines, atomic bombs, and the Doomsday Clock, which measures how close to the missiles flying all everything ending, as we know it.
