The medals are random however some do generate certain kinds more often. If you click on the link to view the promotion as if you were going to accept it, the requirements will be shown to you and you can plan ahead for them.

While in service I saw a list of Murphy's Laws, seems to me there were 21 of them. #13 is one of two that stuck with me.

#13 Friendly fire Really isn't very friendly.

#?? Remember, when absolutely have to depend on your weapon or any other piece of equipment, it was made by the cheapest bidder and therefore is fated to catastrophically fail no matter how well maintained or planned for.

I thought once you got the green check, you kept it.
So when the medal factor kicks in, if you already had the gold and ticked that off it was a go...

Yeah, for the most part. I'm in Iraq right now and there's a guy in my battery that had a negligent discharge inside of an MRAP. Needless to say the round bounced around inside until it finally shot up out of the gunner's hatch while my friend (the gunner) was looking down. The bullet wizzed by his face close enough to leave a burn mark on his cheek. He is one incredibly lucky guy.

Just thought I'd share one of my friendly fire stories (yeah, sadly there is more than one).

The guns behind you are more dangerous than the ones in front of you.
