The STANDARD wording of that phrase is "I resent that remark." It indicates that the speaker does not like being called such things.
If you replace the word "resent" with "resemble" you agree with the remark and acknowledge it is an accurate depiction of yourself.
How is this so difficult? Oh man, I could talk circles around you people in real life. I ALWAYS say things like that.
