The earth's ecosystem would go haywire. There would be massive amounts of tidal waves, storms, resulting in the deaths of millions.

Actually the moon is drifting farther and farther away. It will eventually drift away. But that day is long long away from our time.

If this happened the eath would lose it's axis, it would spin haywire. The poles would melt, forests would die, desert would freze. Eventually the earth would die from lack of food.
