That's the fun of it for me.
There's no way I can maintain control of the cities at that stage; the whole challenge is findin' a way to survive, whatever it costs. Because if I survive, I win the moral battle, and if I survive I know I can get them back one day if the urge so strikes me.
If I jus' sit there and send my soldiers out to a bloodbath in a spiteful, wasteful effort to kill ten or eleven of their 20k archers, then I'll jus' meaninglessly die. No challenge, no fun, no entertainment value.
It's like gettin' lost in a new city and as soon as you see someone who might mug you, you jus' jump in front of the nearest car...not much fun as it is short-lived.
